| Summary: | This study was carried out in the Central Division, Kabale Municipality in Kabale District. It was mainly set to investigate the causes of antisocial behaviors among teenagers in the Municipality. The study set specifically to investigate the causes of antisocial behavior among teenagers in Kabale Municipality, Kabale District, to find out the effects of antisocial behavior on development in Kabale municipality, Kabale District, and to establish possible solutions to antisocial behavior among the teenagers in Kabale municipality, Kabale District. The researcher established the detailed literature on the aspect of causes of antisocial behavior among teenagers and was reached from various magazines, libraries, textbooks, and the Internet. A qualitative research design involving case study analysis of words was applied. The design of the study was built on a causal relationship based on the results from some of the data collection tools which are questionnaires, oral interviews, and observation methods. The study was conducted using a cross-section research design where the researcher surveyed those teenagers in the age bracket of 13-19 years and other relevant individuals who provided information regarding the causes of anti-social behavior. A total of 150 respondents were considered. Data was collected using a fully structured questionnaire and direct interview guides. The major findings were within Kabale Municipality where most teens were living. The causes of antisocial behaviors among teenagers were stated and the relevant effects of antisocial behavior on development were highlighted with the possible solutions to antisocial behaviour also stated. The researcher concluded that the government should put major emphasis on providing education which it has tried to do so far but at least should make it compulsory for each and every teen to access education and after a certain level, a certain activity to the one who does not continue to higher levels should be in place to make him or her busy. Also, there should be a need to set up vocational training centers for the teens who are unable to continue practicing the theory part of Advanced level and other institutions. This will help them acquire skills and hence practice some activities which earn a living to them. Further research should be carried out to establish the effects of antisocial behavior on development in Uganda, to determine the possible solutions to antisocial behavior in Uganda, to assess the impact of education on antisocial behavior in Uganda, and to investigate the relationship between antisocial behavior and income of an individual. |
