description Regarded as one of the major faults,the screw looseness fault in the connection between piston rod and crosshead was studied. It draws a conclusion that the change trends of the average settlement value and the peak-peak value can reflect the extent of thread loosening failure. Compared with the actual failure cases,the dynamic model is proved to be reasonable.
