Summary:This research examines the demonstrations of renewed interest in language didactics and FLE for the lexicon and collocations, and for the lexical selection of which we describe the basic and more refined criteria intended for Fundamental French. Our exploratory study of the formal curriculum related to the lexical activity of the 1st year class of the Tunisian lycée, shows that the thematic and discursive selection criteria predominate over the other criteria recommended by the didacticians of the lexicon, in particular, the collocability and phraseological principle, the extent and high frequency of collocations and phraseological expressions, and the time available for the language course.
