| Summary: | An internet based teachers’ network, Ecoteachers, has been established by economics teachers to learn from each others’ expertise. Social learning requires interaction to develop shared meanings and values. In the competitive, assessment driven context of New Zealand’s secondary schools, teachers do not have many opportunities to learn from each other, particularly teachers who are the sole teachers of subjects such as economics. This article suggests a complementary use of the economics teachers’ network site to encourage teacher learning about the meanings and values of economics teaching.
