Description
Summary:This scientific paper aims to explore the relationship between achieving food safety and the use of genetic modification applications, in order to achieve food security, which is considered one of the most important issues at the forefront of the agendas of countries around the world, especially the advanced ones. Countries' economies have sought ways to achieve acceptable levels of food security by balancing the provision of products that maintain food safety standards on one hand, and employing genetic modification technologies to increase the abundance of agricultural crops and livestock on the other. However, the use of biotechnology for this purpose has not been free from criticism due to its impact on food safety. This is what we will attempt to discuss in this study, highlighting international and local trends regarding the suitability of genetically modified products for consumption to ensure food security and their non-impact on public health.
