| description | The « Applied Technical Professions Syndicate », created in 1974, followed the « Association of Industrial Schools Graduates » which, in the midst of intense political and social unrest, was established in 1943. The history of the association is partly known thanks to a chronicle that was published in the syndicate journal during its first years of existence. The aim of this chronicle was essentially to glorify the contribution of the association to the struggles of the 1940s and early 1950s, which led to the July Revolution. Meanwhile, the demands of the association reveal the social position that they claim which is closer to civil servants than to industrial workers. This article brings useful insights towards understanding some of the background of the syndicate's creation and of its further evolution. |
