description The varying number and location of traction substations along urban rail transit system lines, the time-varying characteristics of the DC traction power supply system network structure caused by continuous operation of trains, the DC traction network connectivity along the whole lines, are the critical technical bottlenecks in the mathematical modeling for the DC traction power supply system. Based on node-admittance network equation theory, a self-adaptive real-time dynamic mathematical modeling approach of the DC traction power supply system for the urban rail transit system was put forward. Firstly, the nodes which include both ends of all traction substations along the whole line and trains were sequenced automatically at any train operation moment, according to the given rules, such nodes were then sequenced according to position coordinates and stored in the node array, and the node-admittance network equation of the DC traction power supply system was generated according to the node array and input parameter files in a self-adaptive, real-time and dynamic pattern, and then solved. The scientificity and correctness of the proposed approach was verified through simulation and experimental study.
