| Summary: | This paper investigates physical education through a reading of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s 2019 report Making Physical Education Dynamic and Inclusive for 2030. Adopting a qualitative policy analysis approach, we identify and discuss the problems outlined in the report, and its proposed solutions for the future of physical education. Physical education appears in the pages of this document as a container for societal problems related to global physical activity, health, and academic performance. We aim to provide a critique of the OECD report, and suggest topics that require further discussion, such as the dependence of quality teaching and learning on local solutions. We also place more emphasis on local sustainable knowledge in physical education.
