Phage biocontrol success of bacterial wilt depends on synergistic interactions with resident rhizosphere microbiota
Published 2024-11-01“…We further identified the bacterial taxa that were associated with these ‘shifted’ microbiomes and conducted additional plant growth experiments, demonstrating that some of the enriched bacterial species could protect plants from R. solanacearum infections—a pattern which was also observed using partial least squares path modelling (PLS‐PM). Together, these results suggest that phages could open niche space for beneficial bacteria by reducing pathogen densities and that variability in phage biocontrol outcomes is rhizosphere microbiome‐dependent, which can introduce between‐replicate variation, even in controlled greenhouse conditions.…”

Identifying functional groups among the diverse, recombining antigenic var genes of the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum from a local community in Ghana.
Published 2018-06-01“…Our approach is to first decompose each sequence type into its constituent, recombining parts; we then use a stochastic block model to identify functional groups among the parts; finally, we classify the sequence types based on which functional groups they contain. …”

Combination ATR-FTIR with Multiple Classification Algorithms for Authentication of the Four Medicinal Plants from Curcuma L. in Rhizomes and Tuberous Roots
Published 2024-12-01“…Then, t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE) was applied to visualize the results, and seven kinds of classification models were constructed. The results showed that support vector machine (SVM) modeling was superior to other models and the accuracy of validation and prediction was preferable, with a modeling time of 127.76 s. …”
