    Published 2025-06-01
“…Among 6.4 million Medicaid beneficiaries aged 19–64 years, the state-specific ensemble prediction models demonstrated high performance across four states,  with C-statistics ranging from 0.70 to 0.73, accuracy from 0.90 to 0.95, specificity from 0.93 to 0.97, and sensitivity from 0.17 to 0.23, consistently outperformingtraditional logistic regression models. Individual-level variables, such as age, race/ethnicity, and musculoskeletal complications, and area-level variables, such as racial/ethnic composition, indices of food access, and proportion of US-citizenship, explained a significant proportion of the variation in dental-related ED use. …”

The driving forces behind the prices of major cryptocurrencies: Evidence from the past five years by Medina Ayta Mohammed, Carmen De Pablos Heredero, José Luis Montes Botella

    Published 2024-05-01
“…The results are robust under variations in sample composition and changes in sets of variables. Originality/value: The study uncovered the complex relationship between cryptocurrency price fluctuations and significant global events that transpired within the past five years by taking the factors identified in previous literature as a whole and adding new variables that are not well studied, such as the effect of Russian-Ukraine War and multinational corporations revealing cryptocurrency adoption intention on the prices of cryptocurrencies. …”

Leukemia risk and rate of radiation dose accumulation. Part 2: Comparative analysis of leukocytic indices and dynamics of peripheral blood values in relation to external gamma-expo... by S. F. Sosnina, A. M. Yurkin, P. V. Okatenko, S. A. Rogacheva, E. A. Gruzdeva, M. E. Sokolnikov

    Published 2020-06-01
“…A number of hematopoietic features were detected among people exposed to production radiation: 1) cytopenia in relation to minimum accumulated doses of radiation exposure in both studied groups; 2) more pronounced lability of hemograms in relation to increased accumulation dose of external gamma-exposure and period of radiation exposure among individuals who had developed leukemia in future in comparison to controls; 3) correlation between peripheral blood cells and accumulated doses of external gamma-exposure was characterized by the highest values of coefficients among individuals with future leukemias; 4) myeloblasts were most often registered among all the blast cells; proerythroblasts were characterized by the shortest average period from the start of the exposure and to the moment of their appearance in the peripheral blood flow (178 days in the study group); polychromatophile erythroblasts in peripheral blood were registered only among the workers with future leukemia; 5) when comparing leukocytic indices in proportion to the categories of accumulated doses of external gamma-exposure, a pronounced variability in the ratio of blood cells was observed among exposed individuals who were subsequently diagnosed with leukemia, especially in the range of 2.0-2.5 Gy. …”

    Published 2025-06-01
“…The expansions made to the original SEsM algorithm are implemented in several directions: (1) In constructing analytical solutions: exact solutions to FNPDE systems are presented by simple or complex composite functions, including combinations of solutions to two or more different simple equations with distinct independent variables (corresponding to different wave velocities); (2) in selecting appropriate fractional derivatives and appropriate wave transformations: the choice of the type of fractional derivatives for each system of FNPDEs depends on the physical nature of the modeled real process. …”
