Risk stratification in neuroblastoma patients through machine learning in the multicenter PRIMAGE cohort by Jose Lozano-Montoya, Ana Jimenez-Pastor, Almudena Fuster-Matanzo, Glen J. Weiss, Leonor Cerda-Alberich, Diana Veiga-Canuto, Blanca Martínez-de-Las-Heras, Blanca Martínez-de-Las-Heras, Adela Cañete-Nieto, Sabine Taschner-Mandl, Barbara Hero, Thorsten Simon, Ruth Ladenstein, Luis Marti-Bonmati, Luis Marti-Bonmati, Angel Alberich-Bayarri

    Published 2025-02-01
“…Interpretability analysis identified lesion heterogeneity, size, and molecular variables as crucial factors in OS prediction. The model stratified neuroblastoma patients into low-, intermediate-, and high-risk categories, demonstrating a superior stratification compared to standard-of-care classification system in both cohorts.DiscussionOur results suggested that radiomics features improve current risk stratification systems in patients with neuroblastoma.…”

Complement Proteins Identify Rapidly Progressive Diabetic Kidney Disease by Donghwan Yun, Sohyun Bae, Yuqian Gao, Lauren Lopez, Dohyun Han, Carrie D. Nicora, Tae Youn Kim, Kyung Chul Moon, Dong Ki Kim, Thomas L. Fillmore, Yon Su Kim, Avi Z. Rosenberg, Weijie Wang, Pinaki Sarder, Wei-Jun Qian, Maryam Afkarian, Seung Seok Han

    Published 2025-07-01
“…A high complement score, derived from urine complement protein abundance, correlated with histopathologic features of DKD and conferred a 2.4-fold greater hazard of disease progression (95% CI: 1.0–5.4) than a low complement score. In CRIC-T2D, targeted mass spectrometry similarly confirmed that complement score stratified patients into rapid and slow DKD progression groups. …”

    Published 2024-04-01
“…In patients after COVID-19, a decrease in the levels of all lipid profile parameters in the acute COVID-19 phase and their subsequent increase were found. In the post-COVID-19 period, 25,7% of patients experienced an increase in lipid profile parameters (increased levels of total cholesterol (TC) and/or cholesterol, low-density lipoproteins and/or triglycerides and/or cholesterol excluding high-density lipoproteins by ≥0,5 mmol/l) despite the fact that lipid-lowering therapy in these patients was at least no worse than in patients without lipid profile changes.Multivariate analysis found that such variables as age (direct relationship), body mass index (direct relationship), estimated glomerular filtration rate in the acute phase (inverse relationship) and cholesterol level excluding high-density lipoproteins in the acute period (inverse relationship), as well as heart failure, obesity and cytokine storm in the acute COVID-19 phase are independent predictors of an increase in one or more lipid parameters by ≥0,5 mmol/l over 6-12 months of post-COVID-19 period.Conclusion. …”
