Early Postoperative Safety of Total Hip Arthroplasty in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Patients by YANG Xingdong, YU Muyang, XU Yiming, ZHU Wei, HU Mingwei, WENG Xisheng, FENG Bin

    Published 2025-01-01
“…After propensity score matching, 163 cases from SLE and control groups were included for analysis. (1) Regarding medical complications, compared with control group, SLE group showed significant differences in osteoporosis, respiratory system disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, urinary system disorders, hematologic abnormalities, and secondary or concomitant rheumatic diseases (all P < 0.05). (2) In terms of preoperative laboratory tests, SLE group had lower platelet counts, absolute lymphocyte counts, hemoglobin levels, hematocrit, albumin levels, blood glucose levels, and activated partial thromboplastin times than control group, while C-reactive protein, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and D-dimer levels were higher (all P < 0.05). (3) Regarding surgical-related indicators, a higher proportion of patients in SLE group had an ASA grade > 2 (15.95% vs. 3.07%, P < 0.001), but intraoperative blood loss was significantly smaller [324.7 (200.0, 500.0) mL vs. 421.8 (200.0, 500.0) mL, P=0.005]. (4) In terms of complications, SLE group exhibited a significantly higher incidence of major complications than control group (8.59% vs. 1.23%, P=0.005), with a relative risk of 1.081 (95% CI: 1.028-1.136). …”

Impact of donor CYP3A5 genotype on pharmacokinetics of tacrolimus in South African paediatric liver transplant patients by C Wheeler, C Masimirembwa, B Mthembu, J Botha, J Scholefield, J Fabian

    Published 2024-04-01
“…During the first 15 days post-transplant, we found that children who received grafts from donor CYP3A5 expressors (CYP3A5*1/*1 and *1/*3) had significantly lower mean tacrolimus CDRs compared with those who received grafts from donor CYP3A5 non-expressors (*3/*3); the recipients of CYP3A5 expressor grafts therefore require higher doses of oral tacrolimus to achieve the same therapeutic target range. …”

How mechanochemistry affects the composition and properties of disordered fluorite BaSnF4? by Mercadier, Briséïs, Legein, Christophe, Duttine, Mathieu, Body, Monique, Gutierrez, Ana Gabriela Porras, Leclerc, Sandrine, Lebedev, Oleg,  Masquelier, Christian, Dambournet, Damien

    Published 2024-11-01
“…Such a hypothesis is supported by the occurrence of fluoride ions located within octahedral sites, which are likely to be bound to Sn(IV) resulting to their lower mobility as shown by 19F solid-state NMR. Overall, this work demonstrates that the interplay between the microstructure, composition and the transport properties of fluoride ion conductors is indeed complex, with many factors at play, including size, strain, defects or composition.…”
