Size effect on the fracture resistance of rough and frictional cracks by Andrea Spagnoli, Andrea Carpinteri, Michele Terzano

    Published 2019-01-01
“…Elastic fracture mechanics commonly defines the fracture resistance of brittle materials within an idealized picture of planar and traction-free cracks. An efficient approach to describe the interface conditions in real cracks, such as those occurring in concrete, ceramics or stones, is to include the effect of both roughness and friction by means of a constitutive relationship between opposite points on the interface. …”

Parameter Optimization of Milling Process for Surface Roughness Constraints by GUO Bin, YUE Caixu, ZHANG Anshan, JIANG Zhipeng, YUE Daxun, QIN Yiyuan

    Published 2023-02-01
“… In the milling process of 6061 aluminum considering the requirement of controlling the surface roughness of workpiece, artificially selected milling parameters may be conservative, resulting in low material removal rate and high manufacturing cost.Taking the surface roughness as the constraint condition and the maximum material removal rate as the goal, the surface roughness regression model is established based on extreme gradient boosting (XGBOOST) with the spindle speed, feed speed and cutting depth as the optimization objects. The milling parameters of spindle speed, feed speed and cutting depth are optimized by genetic algorithm. The optimal milling parameters are obtained by using the multi objective optimization characteristics of genetic algorithm. It can be seen from the four groups of optimization results that the maximum change of surface roughness is only 0.048μm, while the minimum material removal rate increases by 2458.048mm3/min.While achieving surface roughness, the processing efficiency is improved, and the manufacturing costs are reduced, resulting in good optimization effects, which has a certain guiding role in the actual processing.…”

Rough decision rules extraction and reduction based on granular computing by Hong-can YAN, Feng ZHANG, Bao-xiang LIU

    Published 2016-10-01
“…Rule mining was an important research content of data mining, and it was also a hot research topic in the fields of decision support system, artificial intelligence, recommendation system, etc, where attribute reduction and minimal rule set extraction were the key links. Most importantly, the efficiency of extraction was determined by its application. The rough set model and granular computing theory were applied to the decision rule reduction. The decision table was granulated by granulation function, the grain of membership and the concept granular set construction algorithm gener-ated the initial concept granular set. Therefore, attribute reduction could be realized by the distinguish operator of concept granule, and decision rules extraction could be achieved by visualization of concept granule lattice.Experimental result shows that the method is easier to be applied to computer programming and it is more efficient and practical than the existing methods.…”
