The Sedimentary Geochemical Characteristics and Geological Significance of the Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation Accumulation of Organic Matter Black Shale on the Southeastern Sichuan Basi...
Published 2022-01-01“…This time, we investigated the total organic carbon (TOC) content, X-ray diffraction mineralogical composition, and the major and trace element abundances of the newly recovered cores of three shale gas exploration wells in Changning, Qianjiang, and Xiushan areas which were, respectively, selected to discuss and compare the varying paleoenvironmental conditions and the factors that control organic matter accumulation, such as terrigenous input, redox conditions, primary productivity, and the degree of water retention in the basin. The results show that black siliceous shale lithofacies, gray-black shale lithofacies, gray-black silty shale lithofacies, gray argillaceous siltstone lithofacies, and gray shell marl lithofacies are mainly deposited in the Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation in the southeastern Sichuan Basin. …”

Integrating river transport processes and seasonal dynamics to assess watershed nitrogen export risk
Published 2025-01-01“…This study focused on nitrogen as a pollutant by utilizing the Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs (InVEST) model to assess nitrogen export in the Dongting Lake Basin, taking into account both the processes of sub-basin nitrogen export and river transport. …”

Stormwater as an Alternative Source of Water Supply: Feasibility and Implications for Watershed Management
Published 2006-08-01“…Jaber illustrated with maps and graphs, discusses the feasibility of using water from an alternative source of water supply for southern Florida that is usually not considered -- water held in urban/agricultural storm water detention/retention (impoundment) areas. The authors describe the results of a feasibility study of an impoundment in a citrus grove in the southern part of the Caloosahatchee River Basin. …”

Downsystem grain-size trends and mass balance of an ancient wave-influenced sediment routing system: Middle Jurassic Brent Delta, northern North Sea, offshore UK and Norway
Published 2025-01-01“…This third type of deviation reveals that spatial facies partitioning due to shallow-marine process regime distorts the simple downsystem-fining reference trend, and supports the interpretation that large volumes of predominantly muddy sediment were bypassed beyond the ‘Brent Delta’ into neighbouring basins. Our analysis demonstrates a practical approach to interpret sediment supply and sediment dispersal in the stratigraphic record. …”
