Investigating the use of cuprizone and lysolecithin to model demyelination ex vivo in sagittal rat brain organotypic slice cultures
Published 2025-05-01“…We have previously reported the ability to generate sagittal organotypic brain slice cultures, allowing us to investigate the anterior-to-posterior integrity of the corpus callosum during demyelination and remyelination processes. To extend our sagittal organotypic brain slice culture model, this study compares the ability for two common demyelinating agents, cuprizone (CPZ) or lysolecithin (LPC), to induce demyelination of the corpus callosum.MethodsRat brain sagittal organotypic slice cultures were generated with clear visualization of the corpus callosum and treated either with CPZ (1 mM) or LPC (0.5 mg/mL).ResultsWe demonstrate that CPZ treatment induces acute demyelination followed by endogenous remyelination 1-week post-treatment. …”

Evaluation of synergistic effect of entomopathogenic fungi Beauveria bassiana and Lecanicillium lecacii on the mosquito Culex quinquefaciatus.
Published 2024-01-01“…However, their combined efficacy has not yet been evaluated against mosquito control in prior research and a gap of knowledge is still existing. So, this research was an attempt to bridge up the knowledge gap by (1) Assessing the combined efficacy of Beauveria bassiana and Lecanicillium lecanii on Culex quinquefasciatus (2) To investigate the sub-lethal concentration (LC50) of the combined fungal concentration and (3) To examine the post-mortem effects caused by the combined fungal concentration under Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). …”

Explainable AI in Education: Techniques and Qualitative Assessment
Published 2025-01-01“…The methodology involved evaluating the DT, an intrinsically explainable model, against the more complex ANN, which requires post hoc explainability techniques. The results show that, although the feature-based and structured decision-making process of the DT facilitates natural interpretability, it struggles to model complex data relationships, often leading to misclassification. …”
