Experimental Study of Water and Sediment Separation under Hydrocyclone and Flocculation by FU Xuhui, SONG Yuanyuan, HU Jiang, TANG Dingdan, WANG Shuo, CAO Changlai

    Published 2020-01-01
“…In order to study the effect of the combined technology of hydrocyclone and flocculation on the sediment content of water bodies, this paper measures the surface velocity and turbidity by a laboratory self-circulating physical model,ADV and ASM-IV turbidimeter, and analyzes the flow pattern and sediment distribution in the hydrocyclone pool. The results show that:The internal flow field of the hydrocyclone pool is a typical three-dimensional axisymmetric flow field;the turbidity in the hydrocyclone pool gradually decreases from the side wall to the center in the radial direction, and the turbidity gradually increases in the axial direction.Under the same sediment conditions, when the flocculant concentration was 5 mg/L,the effect of final sediment contents in purified water (water purified by the outer ring twice) is the best;the smaller the inlet flow of the hydrocyclone pool, the smaller the final sediment content in purified water.Compared with flocculant, inlet flow has a greater impact on the final sediment content in purified water,so it is a key factor in reducing the sediment content. …”

A new technique for obtaining whole pathogen transcriptomes from infected host tissues by Tatyana L. Azhikina, Timofey A. Skvortsov, Tatyana V. Radaeva, Andrey V. Mardanov, Nikolay V. Ravin, Alexander S. Apt, Eugene D. Sverdlov

    Published 2010-02-01
“…The technique is universal and requires no prior knowledge of the pathogen genome sequence. Pools of transcribed sequences obtained by this technique retain the main characteristics of the genome-wide gene transcription pattern within infected tissue, and can be used for in vivo analysis of gene expression of a wide spectrum of infection agents, such as viruses, bacteria, and protista.…”

Study on Mitigation of Interfacial Intermetallic Compounds by Applying Alternating Magnetic Field in Laser-Directed Energy Deposition of Ti6Al4V/AA2024 Dissimilar Materials by Dongqi Zhang, Dong Du, Shuai Xue, Junjie Qi, Jiaming Zhang, Baohua Chang

    Published 2024-11-01
“…In addition, the influence of the AMF on the temperature distribution and fluid flow in the melt pool was analyzed through numerical simulation. The simulation results indicate that the effect of the AMF on the temperature of the melt pool was not significant, but it changed the flow pattern inside the melt pool. …”

A juxtamembrane basolateral targeting motif regulates signaling through a TGF-β pathway receptor in Drosophila. by Aidan J Peterson, Stephen J Murphy, Melinda G Mundt, MaryJane Shimell, Edward B Leof, Michael B O'Connor

    Published 2022-05-01
“…We explored whether such regulation occurs in the Drosophila wing disc, an epithelial tissue featuring the TGF-β family member Decapentaplegic (Dpp) as a morphogen controlling growth and patterning. Dpp protein has been observed in an extracellular gradient within the columnar cell layer of the disc, but also uniformly in the disc lumen, leading to the question of how graded signaling is achieved in the face of 2 distinctly localized ligand pools. …”
