Quantifying temporal niche abundance through environmental predictability and seasonality: A novel framework for biodiversity assessment by Lei Huang, Futing Zhao, Shuwen Guo, Li Liu, Rongguang Zhang

    Published 2025-07-01
“…Focusing on the southern foothills of Qilian Mountains, we employed Colwell’s indices and wavelet analysis to analyze seasonality and predictability patterns of temperature and precipitation. An Aegean View on Non-Adaptive Radiations by Spyros Sfenthourakis

    Published 2025-05-01
“…Given that allopatric divergence due to stochastic processes is presumably the cause of non-adaptive radiations, insular systems provide a rich pool of case studies. Using examples of lineage divergence from various taxa living on the Aegean islands, I discuss the processes leading to non-adaptive radiations in view of the alternative classifications of radiation by other authors, and show that such patterns may also result from a mixture of adaptive and non-adaptive processes.…”

Analysis of Carbon Sequestration Capacity and Economic Losses Under Multiple Scenarios in Major Grain-Producing Regions of China: A Case Study of the Urban Agglomeration the Huaihe... by Junhao Cheng, Wenfeng Hu, Mengtian Zheng, Xiaolong Jin, Junqiang Yao, Shuangmei Tong, Fei Guo

    Published 2025-06-01
“…The results indicate that the following: (1) From 2000 to 2020, CS kept on declining, with cultivated land and forest land being the dominant carbon pools, accounting for over 86% of the total CS. (2) From a “city–grid–raster” perspective, the spatial pattern of high-value hot spots of CS remained stable, and the overall pattern remained unchanged under multi-scenario simulation, yet the overall carbon sink center of gravity shifted to the southwest. (3) The top five driving factors are elevation, slope, NDVI, GDP per capita, and population density, accounting for 77.2% of the total driving force. (4) The carbon sequestration capacity at the county scale continued to weaken, and the overall capacity presented the following order: 2035 Farmland protection scenario (FPS) > 2035 Natural development scenario (NDS) > 2035 Urban development scenario (UDS). …”

Experimental Study of Water and Sediment Separation under Hydrocyclone and Flocculation by FU Xuhui, SONG Yuanyuan, HU Jiang, TANG Dingdan, WANG Shuo, CAO Changlai

    Published 2020-01-01
“…In order to study the effect of the combined technology of hydrocyclone and flocculation on the sediment content of water bodies, this paper measures the surface velocity and turbidity by a laboratory self-circulating physical model,ADV and ASM-IV turbidimeter, and analyzes the flow pattern and sediment distribution in the hydrocyclone pool. The results show that:The internal flow field of the hydrocyclone pool is a typical three-dimensional axisymmetric flow field;the turbidity in the hydrocyclone pool gradually decreases from the side wall to the center in the radial direction, and the turbidity gradually increases in the axial direction.Under the same sediment conditions, when the flocculant concentration was 5 mg/L,the effect of final sediment contents in purified water (water purified by the outer ring twice) is the best;the smaller the inlet flow of the hydrocyclone pool, the smaller the final sediment content in purified water.Compared with flocculant, inlet flow has a greater impact on the final sediment content in purified water,so it is a key factor in reducing the sediment content. …”
