Optimization of high-dimensional expensive multi-objective problems using multi-mode radial basis functions
Published 2025-01-01“…Abstract Numerous surrogate-assisted evolutionary algorithms are developed for multi-objective expensive problems with low dimensions, but scarce works have paid attention to that with high dimensions, i.e., generally more than 30 decision variables. In this paper, we propose a multi-mode radial basis functions-assisted evolutionary algorithm (MMRAEA) for solving high-dimensional expensive multi-objective optimization problems. …”

Effects of Mesenchymal Stem Cells on Functions of Chimeric Antigen Receptor-Expressing T Lymphocytes and Natural Killer Cells
Published 2025-06-01“…Additionally, MSCs may serve as vehicles for targeted delivery of immunomodulatory agents, and should be considered as active components in the design of next-generation CAR-based immunotherapies. Accordingly, in this review article we emphasize molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in MSC-dependent modulation of CAR-expressing immune cells, paving the way for more efficient CAR-based immunotherapy for malignant diseases.…”

After-discharge activity as a basis to change intraoperative mapping protocol for functionally significant brain areas
Published 2023-03-01“…After-discharge (AD) activity is a pattern that differs from background corticography, represented by rhythmic stereotypical slow waves and/or repetitive spike discharges with ≥1 Hz frequency, recorded after cessation of electrical stimulation and lasting for more than 2 seconds. Despite the accumulated experience in the field of intraoperative neuromonitoring, there is no unified protocol for high-frequency stimulation of cortical functional areas (FAs) upon the AD event. Objective: to demonstrate a need to change the intraoperative FAs mapping protocol in patients with brain tumor on awakening in cases of AD recording.Material and methods. …”

Increased functional potency of multi-edited CAR-T cells manufactured by a non-viral transfection system
Published 2025-03-01“…Improving manufacturing processes to preserve cell health and function of edited T cells is equally critical. Here, we report that Solupore, a Good Manufacturing Practice-aligned, non-viral physicochemical transfection system, can be used to manufacture multi-edited CAR-T cells using CRISPR-Cas9 ribonucleoproteins while maintaining robust cell functionality. …”

Transplantation of decellularized porcine kidney grafts repopulated with primary human cells demonstrates filtration function in pigs
Published 2024-12-01“…Conclusions Our results showcase a human-scale, transplantable bioengineered kidney capable of performing requisite filtration function. This study reinforces the possibility for the bioengineering of transplantable human kidneys, which could someday provide increased and more equitable access to kidney grafts for the treatment of end-stage renal disease.…”

Exploring the role of intrinsic and extrinsic factors on the associations between sarcopenia and falls in older adults
Published 2025-08-01“…Data on fall history and incident falls were collected over a two-year period. A general linear model was used to assess whether intrinsic factors (i.e., multimorbidity, polypharmacy, cognitive function, vision status, nutritional status) and extrinsic factors (i.e., social functioning, environmental characteristics) moderated the relationship between sarcopenia (independent variable) and falls (dependent variable). …”

An efficient spectrum sensing of mixed kernel SVM based on sampling covariance matrix
Published 2019-11-01“…In recent years, with the blind detection algorithms were proposed, more and more blind algorithms based on sampling covariance matrix were applied to spectrum sensing. The detection threshold was an approximation, and the detection performance would be affected for this algorithms. Thus, the mixed kernel function support vector machine (SVM) efficient spectrum sensing based on sampling covariance matrix was proposed. The statistics which were maximum minimum eigenvalue (MME) and covariance absolute value (CAV) of sensing signal sampling covariance matrices were used as the feature vectors of SVM and were trained to generate a spectrum sensing classifier. The advantage of this algorithm was that it needn’t calculate the detection threshold and the extraction of features reduces size of the sample set.The genetic algorithm (GA) was used to optimize the parameters of mixed kernel function SVM algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed method has higher detection probability than MME and CAV algorithms, and has less sensing time than SVM,which has good practicability.…”
