Effect of lincRNA-EPS on osteoclastogenesis of RAW264.7 cells induced by RANKL and LPS: An experimental study by ZHANG Xu, WANG Yabing, SU Jiansheng

    Published 2024-06-01
“…[Results:] RAW264.7 cell strain overexpressing lincRNA-EPS and its negative control strain were generated. Neither strain showed significant difference during osteoclastogenesis (P>0.05), either induced by RANKL or LPS; for osteoclastogenesis by LPS induction, TRAP staining showed that significantly more osteoclasts were generated from lincRNA-EPS OE strain (P<0.05), while phalloidin staining showed that larger F-actin rings were generated from lincRNA-EPS OE strain, and RT-qPCR also showed that the mRNA levels of 4 osteoclastogenesis-related genes (TRAP, CTSK, DC-STAMP and ATP6v0d2) after induction were significantly lower in lincRNA-EPS OE strain (P<0.05); however, those difference were not present (P>0.05) when osteoclastogenesis was induced by RANKL. …”

Adaptive Bayesian Nonparametric Regression via Stationary Smoothness Priors by Justin L. Tobias

    Published 2025-03-01
“…A procedure for Bayesian nonparametric regression is described that automatically adjusts the degree of smoothing as the curvature of the underlying function changes. Relative to previous work adopting a similar approach that either employs a single global smoothing parameter or assumes that the smoothing process follows a random walk, the model considered here permits adaptive smoothing and imposes stationarity in the autoregressive smoothing process. …”

On the added value of sequential deep learning for the upscaling of evapotranspiration by B. Kraft, B. Kraft, B. Kraft, J. A. Nelson, S. Walther, F. Gans, U. Weber, G. Duveiller, M. Reichstein, W. Zhang, M. Rußwurm, D. Tuia, M. Körner, Z. Hamdi, M. Jung

    Published 2025-08-01
“…XGBoost showed a smaller ensemble spread compared to neural networks, in particular when conditions were poorly represented in the training data, but it was more sensitive to the covariate setup. Plant functional types were useful at the site level for the improved representation of spatial patterns but had a significant leverage on upscaling results – i.e., having a disproportionate impact on the spatial patterns, especially for XGBoost, but less for the LSTM model.…”
