Efficient Removal of Methylene Blue from Aqueous Solution by Adsorption of Ceramic-Based Composite DBPC@HKUST-1
Published 2022-01-01“…HKUST-1 crystals with excellent properties are grown in situ on low-cost and high-stability diatomite-based porous ceramic (DBPC) by the non-uniform nucleation growth method. The successful preparation of the composite DBPC@HKUST-1 is verified by XRD,FTIR,and SEM characterization. At the same time, the adsorption performance of DBPC@HKUST-1 for methylene blue (MB) is studied, and the adsorption kinetics, adsorption isotherm, adsorption thermodynamics and the influence of pH are analyzed. The results show that the adsorption behavior is consistent with the quasi-second-order kinetic model and Freundlich isothermal model. The maximum adsorption capacity of DBPC@HKUST-1 for MB is 378.788 mg/g.The adsorption thermodynamics indicates that the adsorption behavior is a spontaneous exothermic reaction.Therefore,DBPC@HKUST-1,as a cheap green adsorbent,is expected to be the best candidate material for the treatment of organic dye wastewater in the future industry.…”
