THE EFFECTS OF 'PROFETAL' PREPARATION UPON FUNCTIONAL ACTIVITY OF HUMAN MONONUCLEAR LEUKOCYTES AND DENDRITIC CELLS
Published 2014-07-01“…The effects of 'Profetal', a drug containing liophylized, dextran-stabilized human alpha-fetoprotein as main active component, were investigated on peripheral donor blood mononuclear leukocytes (ML), with respect to their functional properties and the potential to generate mature dendritic cells (DC).Addition of the drug to cell cultures at optimal doses was shown to cause significant increase in their proliferative capacity and ML blastic transformation levels, and enhanced cytotoxicity towards K562 tumor cells, as well as to induce maturation of antigen-presenting dendritic cells. On the basis of the data obtained, a conclusion is made that 'Profetal' is an active immunomodulatory factor, and it may be applied for generation of cytotoxic lymphocytes and mature DC, aiming to apply them for the biotherapy of oncological and infectious diseases.…”

Experimental and numerical studies on the cantilevered leg joint and its reinforced version commonly used in modern wood furniture
Published 2022-05-01“…A novel joint was proposed and compared with the typical joint commonly used in the cantilevered leg. Both of them were made of beech wood (Fagus orientalis Lipsky). The experimental results showed that the bending moment capacity of the novel joint was remarkably higher than the typical joints, which confirmed that the novel structure had a better mechanical performance. …”

Study on Emission and Performance of Diesel Engine Using Castor Biodiesel
Published 2014-01-01“…Diesel engine performance test indicated that the specific fuel consumption of biodiesel blend was increased sufficiently when the blending ratio was optimized. Thus, the reduction in exhaust emissions and reduction in brake-specific fuel consumption made the blends of caster seed oil (B20) a suitable alternative fuel for diesel and could help in controlling air pollution.…”
