Image Enhancement Based on Wavelet Transform and Contrast  Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization by YU Tian-he, MENG Xue, PAN Ting, LAN Chao-feng

    Published 2018-12-01
“…Contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE) is an efficient algorithm to improve the local details of an image In this paper, we propose an image enhancement method named CLAHE Discrete Wavelet Transform to solve the problem of contrast and overstretched noise in the application process, which combines CLAHE and discrete wavelet transform This method consists of three major steps: First, the original image is decomposed into low frequency and high frequency by the discrete wavelet transform Then, the low frequency coefficients are enhanced by CLAHE and the high frequency coefficients is filtered to limit the noise enhancement This is because the highfrequency component corresponding to the details, the low frequency portion comprises most of the noise image haze Finally, reconstruct the image by taking inverse discrete wavelet transform of the new coefficients…”

Underwater acoustic OFDM channel equalization based on virtual time reversal mirror by Yan-ling YIN, Gang QIAO, Song-zuo LIU

    Published 2015-01-01
“…To solve the problem of the severe inter-symbol interference of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communication caused by underwater acoustic multipath channel,a virtual time reversal channel equalization scheme was proposed.VTRM was able to shorten the channel impulse response and alleviate the phase distortion caused by the acoustic channel for its characteristic of the temporal compression and phase conjugation in frequency domain. The matching pursuit (MP) algorithm was applied to estimate the channel impulse response which could estimate the channel amplitude, time delay and phase accurately. It provided the channel information for the VTRM channel equalization. It also improved a lot compared to the traditional matching correlation channel estimation method which couldn't estimate the channel phase and the estimation precision was low.The simulation, pool trail and Songhua lake experiment show that the performance of VTRM channel equalization is better than that of the PTRM and LS channel equalization in the OFDM underwater acoustic communication.…”

Numerical Solution of Non-Linear Prey-Predator System using Finite Elements Method by Saad Manaa, Ahmed Qasem

    Published 2007-12-01
“…A non-linear prey-predator system solved numerically by Galerkin method, and we compare these results with the results of Pius Peter Nyaanga[6] who used finite difference methods, we found that Galerkin finite elements method is faster than finite difference method to reach equilibrium state where the density for the prey  and the predator  are equals for all the values for and , also we found that Galerkin method converges towards the steady state solutions faster than finite difference method with less steps in time.…”
