Effects of differential protein removal on the properties of early indica rice flour by CAO Yijun, FENG Wei, WANG Ren, ZHANG Hao, WANG Tao

    Published 2024-08-01
“…ObjectiveTo investigate the mechanism of the effect of deproteinisation on the physicochemical and functional properties of rice flour.MethodsEnzymatic and alkaline methods were used to remove protein from early rice flour, and the damaged starch content, size distribution, morphology, solubility, swelling power, pasting characteristics and textural characteristics of the deproteinized rice flour were analyzed.ResultsSodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM) showed that the alkaline method equally removed the protein subunit where as the enzymatic method showed a better homogeneity of protein removal from the surface of starch. The size distribution of the control showed a majorpeak at ca.70 μm and it shifted to 6μmafter protein removal. …”

Curative effect of different blood purification methods for uremic pruritus and their effects on the patients’ life quality by ZHONG Guang-zhi, XING Tian-zhu

    Published 2016-01-01
“…Objective To explore the curative effect of different blood purification methods in the treatment of uremic pruritus and their effects on the patients’ life quality. Methods The clinical data of 120 patients with uremic pruritus treated in our hospital between January 2013 and December2014 were reviewed, and the patients were divided into two groups(n = 60) according to the different ways of blood purification:control group given hemodialysis(HD) for treatment;study group given hemodialysis plus hemoperfusion plus hemodialysis filtration(HD+ HP+ HDF).The symptoms improvement, biochemical indexes and the scores of life quality in the two groups were compared. Results The effective rate of symptoms improvement on sleeping, appetite, high blood pressure and cutaneous pruritus were respectively 78.79%,80.00%,60.98%and 95.00%respectively in the study group, all significantly higher than those in the control group(58.06%,63.64%,48.89%and80.00%respectively)(P<0.05).After treatment, the biochemical indexes were significantly improved in both groups, and the levels of serum creatinine(SCr),urea nitrogen(BUN),serum phosphorus(Pi),serum parathyroid hormone(PTH) and serum β2-microglobulin(β2-MG) were respeclively(234.7 ± 58.9) μmol/L,(10.3 ± 3.1) mmol/L,(1.1 ± 0.8) mmol/L,(98.5 ± 59.1) pmol/L and(15.4 ± 6.5) mg/L in the study group, all significantly higher than those in the control group[(461.5 ± 184.7) μmol/L,(18.1 ± 7.3) mmol/L,(2.8 ± 1.0) mmol/L,(275.8 ± 138.7) pmol/L,and(28.0±7.1)(mg/L),with statistically significant differences both within each group and between the groups(P<0.05,P<0.01).In addition, after treatment, the life quality of the patients was improved in both the two groups, with QOL,WHOQOL and SF-36 respectively(63.8 ± 5.3),(64.7 ± 4.7) and(65.1 ± 5.4) in the study group, higher than those in the control group[(59.8 ±6.1),(58.7 ± 4.1) and(59.1±4.2) respectively](P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusions HD+HP +HDF is with significant curative effect for the treatment of uremic pruritus, which can effectively improve the biochemical index and life quality of the patients, thus worthwhile to be popularized into clinical application.…”
