CEREBRAL NEURODYNAMICS IN PATIENTS WITH STROKE AND UPPER LIMB INJURIES DURING REHABILITATION
Published 2020-11-01“…Rehabilitation of such patients should include dynamic electroencephalographic (EEG) monitoring, since the information about the functional state of cerebral structures is necessary for organizing an effective rehabilitation program, predicting and assessing treatment outcomes. We have examined 26 patients with cerebral stroke (14 men and 12 women aged 42–65 years) in the early stages with the leading neurological syndrome manifesting as spastic hemiparesis and 27 patients with extension fractures of the distal radial physis (after manual reposition and plaster splint removal) at different stages of their rehabilitation with a week interval. We found that changes in brain electric activity (from similar leads of the contralateral hemisphere) were more significant in patients with acute stroke, which can be associated with specific changes in the cerebral rhythms after stroke, since deep location of the alteration focus results in more diffused EEG symptoms due to conducting paths. Positive dynamics in the reduction of slow-wave activity above the affected area in the late rehabilitation period was more pronounced in patients who performed dynamic and static exercises. …”

Multimodal DTI-ALPS and hippocampal microstructural signatures unveil stage-specific pathways in Alzheimer’s disease progression
Published 2025-07-01“…ObjectiveDevelop a multimodal biomarker framework integrating DTI-ALPS (Diffusion Tensor Imaging along the Perivascular Space), hippocampal diffusivity, and CSF profiles for staging Alzheimer’s disease (AD) progression across the HC → MCI → AD continuum.MethodsCross-sectional analysis of 60 age-matched participants [18 healthy controls (HC), 20 with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and 22 with Alzheimer’s disease (AD)] combining 3 T MRI-derived biomarkers (bilateral hippocampal fractional anisotropy (FA) and mean diffusivity (MD), and DTI-ALPS). …”

A novel 3D-printed electrochemical cell for operando synchrotron experiments
Published 2025-07-01“…Here, we present a novel, versatile electrochemical cell optimized for operando synchrotron X-ray studies of the lithium-mediated nitrogen reduction reaction. The cell integrates a single-crystal working electrode with a gas diffusion counter electrode, enabling enhanced faradaic efficiencies (FEs) and operando measurements under conditions that closely resemble scalable flow systems. …”
