Estimation of minimally important difference of the EQ-5D-5L utility scores among patients with either hypertension or diabetes or both: a cross-sectional study in Hong Kong by Richard Huan Xu, Eliza Lai-Yi Wong, Annie Wai-ling CHEUNG

    Published 2020-11-01
“…Objective To estimate and report the minimally important difference (MID) of the EuroQol five-dimensional five-level questionnaire (EQ-5D-5L) using the Hong Kong (HK) utility score among patients with either hypertension or diabetes or both.Design Data were analysed using secondary data analysis based on a cross-sectional study assessing patients’ experiences in HK.Setting A representative sample was recruited from 26 specialist outpatient clinics in HK.Participants We analysed data from 2231 and 662 patients who reported having hypertension or diabetes alone, respectively, and 874 patients had these two diseases.Intervention An instrument-defined approach was applied to estimate MID stratified according to sex and age for the three subpopulations. Results The overall MID (oMID) estimates were 0.089, 0.086 and 0.089 for patients with hypertension or diabetes alone and with these two diseases, respectively. …”

Importance of the α-plot Method in the Characterization of Nanoporous Materials by Jhonny Villarroel-Rocha, Deicy Barrera, Andrés A. García Blanco, Ma. Eugenia Roca Jalil, Karim Sapag

    Published 2013-03-01
“…For comparison purposes, several nanoporous materials with different chemical properties were selected. The analysis was segregated into three categories: (i) microporous materials, in which the analyzed samples are activated carbons (ACs) with different pore-size distributions, a single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) and a zeolite (MS5A); (ii) mesoporous materials, including ordered mesoporous carbons (CMK-3) and ordered mesoporous siliceous materials (MCM-41 and SBA-15); and (iii) micro-mesoporous materials, in which pillared clays (PILCs) obtained with different metals (Al, Si, Fe and Zr) were studied. …”

Feature importance analysis for spammer detection in Sina Weibo by Yu-xiang ZHANG, Yu SUN, Jia-hai YANG, Da-lei ZHOU, Xiang-fei MENG, Chun-jing XIAO

    Published 2016-08-01
“…It is tried to address these questions through combining different feature selection methods with different classifiers on a real Sina Weibo dataset.Experimental results show that selected features are more important than novel classifiers for spammer detection. In addition, features should be derived from a wide range, such as text contents, user behaviors, and social relationship, and the dimension of features should not be too high. These results will be useful in finding the breakpoint of Microblog anti-spam works in the future.…”
