Using pseudo-AI submissions for detecting AI-generated code by Shariq Bashir

    Published 2025-05-01
“…On the other side, the presence of these pseudo-AI submissions reinforces the expectation for students to produce unique and personalized work, motivating them to engage more deeply with the material and rely on their own problem-solving skills.ResultsA user study indicates that this method can detect AI-generated code with over 96% accuracy.DiscussionThe analysis of results shows that pseudo-AI submissions created using AI tools do not closely resemble student-written code, suggesting that the framework does not hinder students from writing their own unique solutions. Differences in areas such as expression assignments, use of language features, readability, efficiency, conciseness, and clean coding practices further distinguish pseudo-AI submissions from student work.…”

Differential regulation of MMP activity by TGFβ1 in fast- and slow- twitch muscle repair: insights from EDL and soleus muscle-derived myoblasts by Paulina Kasprzycka, Maria Anna Ciemerych, Malgorzata Zimowska

    Published 2025-06-01
“…We hypothesized that differences in the regulation of MMPs contribute to the varying repair efficiencies between muscle types.MethodsUsing siRNA to silence TβR1 expression, suramin as a competitive inhibitor of the TβR1 receptor, and inhibitors of both the canonical and non-canonical TGFβ signaling pathways, we characterized the role of TGFβ1 in regulating MMP-9 and MMP-2 during differentiation of myoblasts derived from slow-twitch Soleus and fast-twitch EDL muscles in vitro. Results and discussionOur results demonstrated that blocking TGFβ1 signaling pathway significantly improved regeneration in slow-twitch Soleus muscle, altered the activity of MMP-9 and MMP-2 in in vitro differentiating myoblasts, and Soleus and EDL-derived myoblasts differ in their response to inhibition of TGFβ-dependent signaling pathways.…”
