Extraction efficiency and bioactive evaluation of Tamarix nilotica and Arthrocnemum macrostachyum extracts for anti-cancer potential. by Maryam Al Kaabi, Nancy A ElNaker, Nila Jan, Michael A Ochsenkühn, Shady A Amin, Lina F Yousef, Ahmed F Yousef

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Results suggest that: 1) MAE is more efficient than maceration in recovering metabolites from plant biomass based on measurements of total phenolic content, radical scavenging activity, and bioactivity of extracts based on in vitro cytotoxicity. 2) Only T. nilotica extracts were found to be bioactive based on cytotoxicity measurements. 3) Cancer cell lines displayed differential sensitivity to T. nilotica crude extracts, with breast cancer cells being the most sensitive and lung cancer cells being the least sensitive. 4) Solid-phase fractionation of T. nilotica crude extract using different percentages of methanol resulted in several fractions that were 100-fold more cytotoxic compared to the crude unfractionated extract. …”

Gas exchange and photochemical efficiency of guava under saline water irrigation and nitrogen-potassium fertilization by Reginaldo G. Nobre, Ricardo A. Rodrigues Filho, Geovani S. de Lima, Edna L. da R. Linhares, Lauriane A. dos A. Soares, Luderlândio de A. Silva, Antônio D. da S. Teixeira, Nelson J. V. Macumbi

    Published 2023-03-01
“…The fertilization combination 130% N + 100% K2O mitigated the effects of salt stress up to mean ECw of 1.3 dS m-1, resulting in increments in CO2 assimilation rate, transpiration, instantaneous carboxylation efficiency, and electron transport rate. For maximum quantum efficiency of photosystem II, only treatment irrigated with ECw 3.5 dS m-1 under the combination 160% N + 125% K2O showed damage to the photosynthetic apparatus.…”

Research on a very energy-efficient and low-delay flooding algorithm for wireless sensor network by LI Fang-min1, LIU Xin-hua1, KUANG Hai-lan2

    Published 2007-01-01
“…A novel flooding algorithm called priority covering algorithm was proposed for wireless sensor network. In the algorithm,a method of priority covering was used for assigning different forwarding priorities to vicinity nodes so as to make the flooding packet cover the whole network rapidly;a scheme of restrained forwarding and a scheme of dynamic delay for forwarding were used for restraining the redundant flooding packets and reducing the conflicting retransmission overhead. The result of simulation shows that the algorithm is more energy-efficient and low-delay than those similar flooding algorithms proposed.…”
