Study on model test of creep deformation and failure evolution in deep high-stress roadways by Feng DU

    Published 2025-08-01
“…The results show that under creep conditions, the vertical convergence of the roadway is approximately 2.34 times that of the horizontal convergence, and the net size of the roadway ultimately decreases by 47.7%; the failure process of the roadway shows significant phased characteristics, and the roadway first experiences floor heave, which further induces the deformation of the sidewall, subsequently, the continuous convergence of the sidewall causes the support structure to be compressed and bulge, leading to the gradual subsidence of the roof and ultimately resulting in the convergence of the entire cross-section of the roadway; the radial damage characteristics of the surrounding rock are significantly stronger than the tangential ones, and the damaged zone is concentrated within 0-100 mm from the surface of the roadway, with the floor area being the most severely damaged, having a radial integrity reduction coefficient (IRF) as high as 62.8%, and the IRF of the sidewall exceeding 30%, indicating that the support in this area is particularly crucial; the strain of the surrounding rock shows a pattern of gradually extending from the surface to the deep. …”

Spatio-temporal evolution and driving factors of the coupling and coordinated development of China's digital economy and older adult care services by Hui Liu, Wei Wang, Sha Li

    Published 2025-02-01
“…The study analyzes the level of coordinated development between the two using the coupling coordination degree model, and measures the main driving factors using the geographical detector model.Results(1) The overall level of coupling and coordinated development between China's digital economy and older adult care services shows an upward trend, but the growth rate is uneven, exhibiting an “M-shaped” pattern, with rapid growth followed by gradual slowdown, a bottoming-out rebound, and then a continuous decline. (2) There are significant spatial differences in the coupling and coordinated development of China's digital economy and older adult care services. …”

Effects of atypical water-level fluctuations on macrophyte species composition, ecological structure, and identification of water-level Indicator Species for coastal wetlands by Danielle Sylvia Montocchio, Patricia Chow-Fraser

    Published 2025-08-01
“…Unlike the historical 8-year period oscillations (octennia) of high and low water levels (WLs), Lakes Huron-Michigan recently experienced two octennia of sustained-low WLs (1999 to 2014), followed by an octennium of continuously high WLs. We used macrophyte presence data collected between 2003 and 2021 across 20 sub-regions in Georgian Bay to assess the long-term effects of this atypical pattern of WL fluctuations on the plant communities of 58 wetlands (119 wetland-years). …”
