Study on Dynamic Response of Flexible Steel Sheds Under Rockfall Impact by Chun Liu, Fan Zhang, Wenqian Shan, Qianqian Deng

    Published 2025-01-01
“…The rockfall impact process can be divided into two stages: the loading stage and the unloading stage, and the unloading stiffness of the system is greater than the loading stiffness; (2) the main energy-consuming components of the shed are steel bracing, steel arch frame, and energy dissipator, among which the steel bracing consumes the most energy, while the net and support cable almost dissipate no energy; (3) in the design of the shed bearing, the bearing resistance to pull, compression, and shear should be considered at the same time; (4) compared to the original flexible steel shed, the optimized flexible steel shed reduces 52% of the rockfall maximum impact force under the same rockfall impact energy, and its energy consumption distribution is more reasonable and easier to maintain. …”

New Technique for Tibiotalar Arthrodesis Using a New Intramedullary Nail Device: A Cadaveric Study by Emmanuel D. Eisenstein, Mario Rodriguez, Amr A. Abdelgawad

    Published 2016-01-01
“…After the final design was constructed, the device was tested on three cadaveric specimens. Results. Four basic nail geometries were developed. The optimal design was composed of two relatively straight segments, each with a different radius of curvature for their respective tibial and talar component. …”
