Effect of Moisture on Breakdown Characteristics of Oil paper Insulation in Complicated Electric Field by LIU Qingsong, DENG Jun, ZHANG Liang, WANG Qi, CHEN Qingguo, CHI Minghe

    Published 2020-10-01
“…In order to study the effect of moisture on breakdown characteristics of oilpaper insulation in complex electric field, this paper obtains the dielectric constant characteristics, conductive characteristics, dielectric loss characteristic and breakdown characteristics of oilimpregnated pressboard and breakdown characteristics of oilpaper insulation via experiments The result shows that the growth of moisture decreases the resistivity of oilimpregnated pressboard, increases the relative dielectric constant and dielectric dissipation factor There is a breakdown peak of oilimpregnated pressboard moving with the moisture, which goes to the high moisture area with the AC content increasing in applied voltage But the breakdown voltage goes down directly in oilpaper insulation To anlyze the reason which results in the difference between the two insulation structures, the micro structure of oilimpregnated pressboard was boserved The result shows that the oilimpregnated pressboard can be equaled to a tiny oilpaper insulation In oilimpregnated pressboard the moisture affects both the paper and the oil for the volumes of paper and oil are similar But in the oilpaper insulation the moisture mainly affects the paper for the huge gap between the paper and oil Comparing the breakdown voltage between oilimpregnated pressboard and oilpaper insulation, it can be infered that in oilpaper insulation the paper in more important, especially wiht the high DC content…”
