Who gets access to an interprofessional team-based primary care programme for patients with complex health and social needs? A cross-sectional analysis by Walter P Wodchis, Jennifer Rayner, David Rudoler, Sydney Jopling

    Published 2022-12-01
“…Objectives To determine whether a voluntary referral-based interprofessional team-based primary care programme reached its target population and to assess the representativeness of referring primary care physicians.Design Cross-sectional analysis of administrative health data.Setting Ontario, Canada.Intervention TeamCare provides access to Community Health Centre services for patients of non-team physicians with complex health and social needs.Participants All adult patients who participated in TeamCare between 1 April 2015 and 31 March 2017 (n=1148), and as comparators, all non-referred adult patients of the primary care providers who shared patients in TeamCare (n=546 989), and a 1% random sample of the adult Ontario population (n=117 753).Results TeamCare patients were more likely to live in lower income neighbourhoods with a higher degree of marginalisation relative to comparison groups. …”

Intrinsic brain mapping of cognitive abilities: A multiple-dataset study on intelligence and its components by Simone Di Plinio, Mauro Gianni Perrucci, Grazia Ferrara, Maria Rita Sergi, Marco Tommasi, Mariavittoria Martino, Aristide Saggino, Sjoerd JH Ebisch

    Published 2025-04-01
“…These outcomes highlight the relevance of network efficiency and integration, as well as of the hierarchical organization in supporting specific aspects of intelligence, while recognizing the inherent complexity of these relationships. Our multi-resolution network approach offers new insights into the interplay between multilayer network properties and the structure of cognitive abilities, advancing the understanding of the neural substrates of the intelligence construct.…”

Genetic basis of a cognitive complexity metric. by Narelle K Hansell, Graeme S Halford, Glenda Andrews, David H K Shum, Sarah E Harris, Gail Davies, Sanja Franic, Andrea Christoforou, Brendan Zietsch, Jodie Painter, Sarah E Medland, Erik A Ehli, Gareth E Davies, Vidar M Steen, Astri J Lundervold, Ivar Reinvang, Grant W Montgomery, Thomas Espeseth, Hilleke E Hulshoff Pol, John M Starr, Nicholas G Martin, Stephanie Le Hellard, Dorret I Boomsma, Ian J Deary, Margaret J Wright

    Published 2015-01-01
“…These results indicate that genetic sources influencing relational processing are a key component of the genetic architecture of broader cognitive abilities. Further, they suggest a genetic cascade, whereby genetic factors influencing capacity limitation in relational processing have a flow-on effect to more complex cognitive traits, including reasoning and working memory, and ultimately, IQ.…”
