Residual-Based Simpler Block GMRES for Nonsymmetric Linear Systems with Multiple Right-Hand Sides by Qinghua Wu, Liang Bao, Yiqin Lin

    Published 2018-01-01
“…Moreover, it is shown that the residual-based method is numerically more stable than the simpler block GMRES method. Based on the deflation strategy proposed by Calandra et al. (2013), we derive a deflation strategy to detect the possible linear dependence of the residuals and a near rank deficiency occurring in the block Arnoldi procedure. …”

Background reference frame generation method for surveillance video based on image block codebook model by Wei ZHANG, Yu WANG, Xinyi CHEN, Yanwen WANG, Qingyang JING, Weimin LEI

    Published 2023-01-01
“…To solve the problems that the background reference frames are seriously contaminated by the foreground, and the bit rate increases suddenly incurred by the one-time transmission of the background frames, a progressive background frame generation method with image block as the basic unit was proposed for surveillance video application. An image block codebook model based on clustering was formulated. The image blocks at the same position in the video sequence were effectively clustered by using perceptual hash-based element matching. The background symbol was accurately detected by using the characteristics of the background image area.A complete background frame was produced by extracting the background blocks in different frames based on the codebook model.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves 17.89% coding efficiency for luma component compared with standard HM16.20, and can effectively improve the quality of the produced background reference frame.Besides, the proposed method complexity meets the real-time requirements of video applications.…”

Integrator complex subunit 12 knockout overcomes a transcriptional block to HIV latency reversal by Carley N Gray, Manickam Ashokkumar, Derek H Janssens, Jennifer L Kirchherr, Brigitte Allard, Emily Hsieh, Terry L Hafer, Nancie M Archin, Edward P Browne, Michael Emerman

    Published 2025-04-01
“…Additionally, we observed more RNAPII in the gene body of HIV only with the combination of INTS12 knockout with AZD5582 & I-BET151, indicating that INTS12 induces a transcriptional elongation block to viral reactivation. Moreover, knockout of INTS12 increased HIV-1 reactivation in CD4 T cells from virally suppressed PLWH ex vivo, and we detected viral RNA in the supernatant from CD4 T cells of all three virally suppressed PLWH tested upon INTS12 knockout, suggesting that INTS12 prevents full-length HIV RNA production in primary T cells. …”
