Determining Causal Factors of Severe Crashes on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, Montana by Sahima Nazneen, Mahdi Rezapour, Khaled Ksaibati

    Published 2018-01-01
“…Due to the unique nature of each of the reservations, factors contributing to crashes vary across the reservations as well as across the different roadways within the reservations. Only a few researches have investigated factors contributing to crashes on Indian reservations, and no studies have determined the factors separately for different roadways within the reservations. …”

The water-agro-food system: upscaling from the Seine river basin to the global scale by Billen, Gilles, Garnier, Josette

    Published 2022-09-01
“…Starting from the study of the major impacts of human activity in the Seine river basin on ground- and surface water quality, due to domestic and industrial wastewater and to intensive agricultural practices, a research framework was developed, combining the analysis of the agricultural systems, their connection to food requirement by local population and trade exchanges with other regions or countries, as well as the losses to the hydrosphere and atmosphere in terms of nitrogen, phosphorus, silica and carbon, and their associated environmental problems. …”

Private, public, and bottled drinking water: Shared contaminant-mixture exposures and effects challenge by Paul M. Bradley, Kristin M. Romanok, Kelly L. Smalling, Stephanie E. Gordon, Bradley J. Huffman, Katie Paul Friedman, Daniel L. Villeneuve, Brett R. Blackwell, Suzanne C. Fitzpatrick, Michael J. Focazio, Elizabeth Medlock-Kakaley, Shannon M. Meppelink, Ana Navas–Acien, Anne E. Nigra, Molly L. Schreiner

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Objectives: The purpose of this paper is to provide a meta-analysis (quantitative synthesis) of POU–DW contaminant–mixture exposures and corresponding potential human–health effects of private-TW, public-TW, and BW by aggregating exposure results and harmonizing apical–health–benchmark–weighted and bioactivity–weighted effects predictions across previous studies by this research group. Discussion: Simultaneous exposures to multiple inorganic and organic contaminants of known or suspected human-health concern are common across all three DW supplies, with substantial variability observed in each and no systematic difference in predicted cumulative risk between supplies. …”
