Research on the spatial characterization of herder grazing intensity supported by mobile phone signaling data by Zhanming Qiao, Zhanming Qiao, Zhanming Qiao, Min Zheng, Min Zheng, Min Zheng, Zheng Li, Zheng Li, Quanmin Dong, Chunping Zhang, Yang Yu, Quan Cao

    Published 2025-06-01
“…The equal weight average method was employed to simulate herders’ grazing intensity, with empirical analyses conducted in the Henan Mongolian Autonomous County.ResultsThe findings indicated that: 1) herders’ mobile phone signaling data can quantitatively represent grazing intensity, and when combined with the density and elevation distribution of settlements in Henan County, it reveals that the spatial distribution of grazing intensity aligns with the trajectory of herders’ summer grazing activities. 2) The spatial characteristics of the centrality of the herders’ mobility network exhibited a concentrated point-like ring structure, primarily centered on the townships of Duosong and Youganning, with a decreasing spread outward. 3) The spatial characteristics of the intensity of herders’ mobility ties showed a circular distribution for the overall degree of network ties, which was primarily characterized by low ties. …”

Spatial and temporal variations of soil microbial respiration under native and exotic tree species by Lameck Davie Nyirenda, James Majamanda, Anas Khalif, Mana Kanjanamaneesathian

    Published 2023-12-01
“…Trees and soil respiration have a complex relationship that is poorly understood, as does the seasonal and spatial variation that naturally occurs in them. This study was therefore conducted to evaluate soil respiration processes under two native tree species, Msuku (Uapaca kirkiana) and Mtondo (Julbernardia paniculata), and one introduced tree species, Malaina (Gmelina arborea). …”

Spatial pattern evolution and driving forces of ecosystem service value in the Yellow River Basin by Yuan Li, Xiao Hui Wang, Yu Xuan Wan, Bin Xu

    Published 2025-05-01
“…Ecological governance achieved remarkable progress, particularly in upper and delta regions, though accompanied by increased ESV spatial fragmentation across basin sections. This study would provide scientific support for integrated land management, spatial economic planning, and ecological policy formulation in the Yellow River Basin by conducting the basin-scale analysis.…”

Quantifying the impact of the uncertainty arising from spatial allocation on public health using CMAQ by Fulya Cingiroglu, Ezgi Akyuz, Mete Tayanc, Alper Unal

    Published 2025-04-01
“…The research focused on the Afşin-Elbistan Power Plant (AP), with substantial emissions of SO2 (∼300,000 t/y) and PM2.5 (∼6000 t/y), evaluating the variability in concentrations from emission allocation in gridded inventories. 13 model simulations were conducted, including a base case (c0) where emissions were spatially allocated based on intersection ratios and 12 scenario cases (c1–c12) where emissions were assigned to different grids for 2018. …”
