Serum interleukin-18 level in patients with antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies associated vasculitis and implication by CAI Juan, WANG Wei-li, HUANG Xin, WANG Yuan, TANG Sha, ZHANG Jing-bo

    Published 2015-01-01
“…Objective To investigate serum interleukin-18(IL-18) level in patients with antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies(ANCA) associated vasculitis(AAV) and the implication in AAV.Methods Sera and clinical data were obtained from patients with AAV,mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis(mild-MsPGN) and healthy controls(HCs).The IL-18 levels were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The correlation between the levels of serum IL-18 and the AAV activity index birmingham vasculitis active scoring system(BVAS),C-reaction protein(CRP),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),estimated glomerular filtration rate(e-GFR),serum creatinine(SCr)levels and 24-h urinary protein quantity(24 h-UPQ) was analyzed by pearson correlation analysis.Receiver operating characteristic curves(ROC) of serum IL-18,CRP and ESR levels were analyzed. Results(l)The serum IL-18 levels in patients with active AAV[(183.85 + 57.0) ng/L]were increased significantly as compared with inactive AAV[(92.0 ± 34.29) ng/L,P<0.05],mild-MsPGN[(63.0± 17.7) ng/L,P<0.01]and HCs[(39.2 ± 6.3) ng/L,P<0.01];(2) There was a positive correlation between the serum levels of IL-18 and the index of BVAS(r = 0.572,P<0.01) and ESR levels(r= 0.394,P<0.05),respectively.However,there was no correlation between the levels of serum IL-18 and the levels of CRP,e-GFR,SCr and 24 h-UPQ(r = 0.117,-0.25,0.29,0.20,respectively,P>0.05);(3)ROC revealed that the level of serum IL-18 was superior to the level of CRP or ESR to distinguish active and inactive AAV.Conclusions The levels of IL-18 were elevated significantly in active AAV patients, suggesting IL-15 may be involved the pathophysiology of AAV.…”

Mechanisms and spatial spillover effects of science and technology financial ecosystem on carbon emission reduction from multiple perspectives: evidence from China by Jinyue Zhang, Zhenglin Sun

    Published 2025-07-01
“…Total factor carbon productivity (TFCP) shows a spatial distribution pattern where “block distribution prevails in mid and low-level cities, supplemented by point distribution in high-level cities”. (2) Local STFE can facilitate local city carbon emission reduction; however, the development of local STFE is harmful to carbon emission reduction in neighboring cities, resulting in the negative externality of the “beggar-thy-neighbor” spatial spillover effect. (3) Heterogeneity analysis indicates that only the STFE in the eastern region is harmful to the improvement of the carbon emission reduction level in neighboring regions, while the positive spatial spillover effect of the STFE carbon emission reduction effect is more prominent in non-resource cities and high-financial-development areas. (4) The negative spatial spillover effect of the development of local STFE on carbon emission reduction in neighboring areas operates through the mechanisms of green technology innovation, human capital siphoning, the digital divide in informatization development, and the competitive exclusion in financial resource allocation. …”
