Seismic Performance Analysis of Energy Dissipation Building with Non-preload Variable Friction Inerter Under Extremely Rare Earthquake by ZHAO Guifeng, LIU Wei, MA Yuhong, KONG Sihua, CHEN Jiachuan, CHEN Zhaosheng

    Published 2025-07-01
“…The SDOF system with and without the proposed NVFI was considered and denoted as SDOF‒NVFI and SDOF, respectively. Three groups of different ground motion records, including far-field, near-fault pulse, and near-fault non-pulse ground motion records, were selected to perform the nonlinear dynamic analysis, and the peak ground acceleration (PGA) scaled to multiple intensity levels was 0.2g, 0.4g, and 0.6g for design level earthquake (DLE), maximum considered earthquake (MCE), and extremely rare earthquake (ERE), respectively. Results and DiscussionsThe results illustrated that NVFI significantly reduced the displacement, velocity, and acceleration responses of the SDOF systems subjected to different earthquake records at different hazard levels. …”

Evaluation methods and engineering applications of in-situ stress in deep, strong heterogeneity terrestrial shale oil and gas reservoirs: a case study of jurassic shales in the Yin... by Shujun Yin, Jianliang Zhang, Hucheng Deng, Hucheng Deng, Hao Qin, Wenhao Xia, Yu Du, Ming Gong, Tao Huang, Chang Li

    Published 2025-03-01
“…These findings were corroborated by in-situstress measurements obtained through hydraulic fracturing, demonstrating that the stress magnitudes determined via differential strain analysis are highly accurate. The analysis of the three-dimensional stress relationships indicates that the study area predominantly exhibits a strike-slip faulting regime. …”

Taphonomy and whale-fall analysis of the Tortonian baleen whales from the Stirone river, Emilia Romagna (northern Italy) by Michelangelo Bisconti, Michelangelo Bisconti, Paola Monegatti, Gianluca Raineri, Giandonato Tartarelli, Giorgio Carnevale

    Published 2025-04-01
“…The diversity of the trace fossils and the broad stratigraphic context in which the assemblages are included are investigated in order to investigate into the origin and evolution of the specialized whale fall communities since the Neogene.MethodsMacrophotographs, three-dimensional modeling from photogrammetry and laser scanner examinations of the specimens were used to analyze the diversity of trace fossils observed on the bones of the balaenopterids. …”

GIS-based landslide susceptibility mapping using AHP, FMEA, and Pareto systematic analysis in central Yalova, Türkiye by Burak Demirel, Eray Yildirim, Eray Can

    Published 2025-04-01
“…This study aimed to produce a Geographic Information System (GIS)-based landslide susceptibility map (LSM) of the Yalova central region using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Pareto systematic analyses. Lithology, slope, aspect, distance from roads, NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), distance from faults, land use, rainfall, distance from rivers, and elevation factors were used in the analyses. …”
