A heterozygous CEBPA mutation disrupting the bZIP domain in a RUNX1 and SRSF2 mutational background causes MDS disease progression
Published 2025-07-01“…Abstract Myelodysplastic syndrome disease (MDS) is caused by the successive acquisition of mutations and thus displays a variable risk for progression to AML. Mutations in CEBPA are commonly associated with a high risk of disease progression, but whether they are causative for AML development is unclear. …”

Personal, occupational and cardiovascular risk factors associated with elevated blood pressure in Brazilian firefighters: a cross-sectional study
Published 2025-01-01“…Objective Our study evaluated the prevalence of hypertension in a population of Brazilian firefighters and the association of elevated blood pressure (BP) with personal, occupational, and cardiovascular risk factors.Design This was a cross-sectional study.Setting Our study was based on health inspections of the Military Fire Brigade of the Espírito Santo State, Brazil, performed in 2019.Participants The study participants were 859 male Brazilian firefighters.Outcome measures Data collected included sociodemographic (age, ethnicity, educational level, health insurance coverage), occupational (city of work, type of current activity, main operational activity), lifestyle (smoking and alcohol consumption), and health status (fasting glucose, total cholesterol and triglycerides, blood pressure, and anthropometric composition). All firefighters in the pre-hypertension and hypertension range and/or using antihypertensive medication were considered as having BP above normal, and the association of this outcome with sociodemographic, occupational, lifestyle, and health status variables was analysed by a logistic regression model. Results We found that 45.6% of firefighters presented elevated BP levels. …”

Gait speed in older adults: exploring the impact of functional, physical and social factors
Published 2024-12-01“…To assess physical function, SPPB tests (chair stand test, balance tests, gait speed test), manual grip strength, muscle quality index, and power were conducted, in addition to measuring body composition and socioeconomic status. Results: The final regression model showed that gait speed was significantly partially explained (R2=0.35; p<0.01) by the socioeconomic environment, age, balance, and relative power. …”

Published 2024-12-01“…N-hexane was used to extract the oils of black mustard and flax seed from their seeds, and the oils' fatty acid composition was then determined. A full factorial design was created to assess the impact of three variables: oil type, oil concentration, and S:Cos ratio, on various responses: globule size, zeta potential, and emulsification time of the self-nanoemulsifying system. …”

Experimental Study on the Durability of Alkali-Activated Slag Concrete after Freeze-Thaw Cycle
Published 2021-01-01“…When analyzed via the microstructure test, crack pores and microcracks with narrow spaces and large surface areas were generated under freeze-thaw damage conditions, but the dense hydration structure and high-bonding-strength hydration products led to a better freeze-thaw resistance. The damage model was established using compressive strength and relative dynamic elastic modulus as damage variables, and the attenuation exponential and accumulative damage power function model had a high accuracy, which could better reflect the freeze-thaw damage law and damage degree and predict the lifetime of alkali-activated slag concrete.…”
