Validated and Optimized Strategies for Preserving Historical Heritage Towards Natural and Anthropic Risks: Insights from the DETECT-AGING Project by Gian Piero Lignola, Nicola Buratti, Serena Cattari, Fulvio Parisi, Filippo Ubertini, Sara Alfano, Laura Ierimonti, Andrea Meoni, Daniele Sivori, Giorgio Virgulto

    Published 2025-02-01
“…Results were built on recent advances in structural performance modelling of historical masonry structures, interpretation of effects of degradation, advanced numerical simulations, and structural health monitoring, with the final aim to go beyond the state of the art in regard to assessing and establishing: (i) degradation effects from the level of materials to the scale of components; (ii) methodologies able to transfer information on mechanical behaviour from a micro-scale to a macro-scale; (iii) the use of ambient vibration measurements to address epistemic modelling uncertainties in historical masonry buildings; (iv) structural health monitoring (SHM) to detect the occurrence of damage and locate/quantify damage; (v) the capability of equivalent frame models (EFMs) to support the SHM of masonry structures in place of more refined 3D finite element models (FEMs); (vi) variations in the structural response that can be monitored by sensor networks as a function of simulated degradation.…”

Macro-Modeling Linguistic Variability: Expanding the Boundaries of Linguistic Variation Studies (A Comprehensive Review of Russian Linguists’ Works) by N. D. Golev

    Published 2023-10-01
“…The main focus of the review is on two parameters of macromodeling linguistic variability: structural-level and functional-discursive. The first is associated with “enlarging” the subject of variation studies from phonemes to texts, while the second parameter is related to considering various phenomena of speech activity in terms of variation, such as language consciousness, language personality, and formats of speech activity (goals, discourses, speech genres, etc.). …”

Spatio-temporal Variation Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Bank Collapse in Reservoir Area of Jinghong Hydropower Station by LIANG Ruifeng, XU Peng

    Published 2020-01-01
“…The reservoir area of Jinghong hydropower station belongs to the medium mountain canyon landform with variable stratum lithologies and complex geological structures.By investigation and review of bank collapse in the reservoir area in 2009,2012,2014 and 2019,this paper summarizes and analyzes the temporal-spatial variation characteristics and influencing factors of bank collapse. The results show that:①Up to the survey period in 2019,there are 299 bank collapses in the reservoir area. The bank collapse with volume between 10~100 m3 occupies the first place,130 bank collapses stop developing and 169 bank collapses are developing;②The number of bank collapse is increasing year by year;the bank collapses are mainly distributed in the reservoir section with steep terrain, thicker loose layer and strong weathered rock;the reservoir area is mainly characterized by small-scale bank collapse, but there is a trend of gradual expansion;the increase of bank collapses which are developing is obviously slowing down and the bank collapses in earlier stage show a gradually stable state;③Specific topography, thicker loose layer, economic trees which are unfavorable to soil and water conservation, and frequent human production activities are the main factors for bank collapses.…”
