Predicting Kinematic Viscosity and Cetane Number of Diesel- Biodiesel Blend Using Neural Network and Empirical Models by M. yari, Gh. Moradi, M. Abdolmaleki, Sh. Bashiri

    Published 2022-09-01
“…This study tries to estimate two substantial properties of blend, i.e. kinemattic viscosity (KV) and cetane number (CN), through neural network (NN) and empirical models which use pure properties of biodiesel (kinematic viscosity, boiling point, evaporation point, flash point, pour point, heat of combustion, cloud point, and specific gravity) as independent variables. In this regard, a three-layer feed-forward network with varying input parameters, training algorithms, transfer functions, and hidden neurons has been examined to predict the KV and CN of the diesel-biodiesel blend. …”

Fokker-Planck Central Moment Lattice Boltzmann Method for Effective Simulations of Fluid Dynamics by William Schupbach, Kannan Premnath

    Published 2024-10-01
“…This can be interpreted as a new path for the collision process in terms of the relaxation of the various central moments to “equilibria”, which we term as the Markovian central moment attractors that depend on the products of the adjacent lower order moments and a diffusion coefficient tensor, thereby involving of a chain of attractors; effectively, the latter are nonlinear functions of not only the hydrodynamic variables, but also the non-conserved moments; the relaxation rates are based on scaling the drift coefficient by the order of the moment involved. …”

ANALYSIS AND OPTIMIZATION OF QUICK-RETURN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BEATING⁃UP SLEY BASED ON MULTIVARIABLE DESIGN by QIU HaiFei

    Published 2024-10-01
“…For improving the quick‑return characteristics of the sley movement,an optimal mathematical model for maximum curve displacement Sm of the connectingarm pin was proposed through beating‑up principle analysis and mechanism deduction.A multivariable design space was constructed by use of the component length(lc,lh,lr,lf)and crankangleα.The parametric functional model development of the four‑bar beating‑up with short connecting rod was realized, and its kinematic posture and centroid trajectory were analyzed and verified through mechanism simulation. The results of the case study indicate that the variable lc andαhave more greater influence on the sensitivity of the objective function F(X),and multivariable(DV_1,DV_2,DV_3)coupling can effectively enhance the design plasticity of the quick‑return characteristics of the sley. When the maximum curve displacement Sm of the connectingarm pin increases to 71.41 mm,the extreme position angleθand the travel speed ratio coefficient K are increased by 10.96°and 0.131 respectively, and the quick-return motion effect of the sley is obviously improved. The optimization results accord with the conditions of rod length and mechanism transmission requirement, which are conductive to the design innovation and performance improvement of the four‑bar beating‑up system.…”

    Published 2018-01-01
“…Results from numerical simulations and from benchmark EEG recordings showed that: i) across a broad range of model orders all algorithms correctly reproduced patterns of interactions; ii) signal downsampling degraded connectivity estimation accuracy for most algorithms, although in some cases downsampling was shown to reduce variability in the estimates by lowering the number of parameters in the model; iii) single-trial modeling followed by averaging showed optimal performance with larger adaptation coefficients than previously suggested, and showed slower adaptation speeds than multi-trial modeling. …”
