Offshore evidence for volcanic landslide post Last Glacial Maximum at sub-Antarctic Heard Island, southern Indian Ocean
Published 2025-01-01“…Here we present the first offshore geomorphological and geological evidence supporting a volcanic landslide on Big Ben, including: (1) the seafloor to the southwest of Heard resembling a landslide deposit, covering at least 467 km2, (2) the spatial correlation between the onshore landslide scar and the offshore deposit and (3) the consistency in lithologies and compositions of rocks sampled from the deposit with the onshore in situ lithologies. 40Ar/39Ar geochronology constrains the maximum age of the volcanic landslide to 18.0 ± 1.4 ka, post the Last Glacial Maximum. …”

New U-Pb zircon data for Maarianvaara granite and Tohmajärvi volcanic complex, eastern Finland: geologic implications
Published 2025-01-01“…Geological evidence and geochemical data for the Kylmäkallio sill, dated at ca. 2.11 Ga from Tohmajärvi, indicate it is cogenetic/coeval with mafic metavolcanic/hypabyssal intercalations occurring in both the TVC and the surrounding black schist layered metasedimentary rocks of the Tohmajärvi suite. Thus, burial of organic carbon in the sedimentary protoliths of the Tohmajärvi succession was evidently occurring at ca. 2.11 Ga, about 50 Ma earlier than has been assumed in some recent time-stratigraphic interpretations.…”

The gold content of mafic to felsic potassic magmas
Published 2024-08-01“…Here, we report Au concentrations and Au/Cu ratios in silicate melt inclusions analyzed in potassic rocks worldwide. The results suggest that mafic potassic magmas generally contain only 2‒7 ng/g Au, despite common sulfide exhaustion during partial mantle melting. …”

Transient Temperature Impact on Deep Reservoir Fracturing
Published 2021-01-01“…The conductivity and complexity of created fractures are critically dependent on the rheology of fracking fluid and the mechanics properties of rocks. Literatures show that both the rheology of fracturing fluid and fracture propagation dynamics are affected by the temperature of fracturing fluid. …”

Advancing Enhanced Weathering Modeling in Soils: Critical Comparison With Experimental Data
Published 2025-01-01“…Abstract Enhanced weathering (EW) is a promising strategy to remove atmospheric CO2 by amending agricultural and forestry soils with ground silicate rocks. However, current model‐based EW assessments face large uncertainties stemming from the intricate interplay among soil processes, compounded by the absence of a detailed comparison with available observational data. …”
