Published 2024“…Secondly, factors limiting the access to the credit and business performance of women-owned businesses in the southern division of Kabale municipality were inadequate collateral security, failure by financial institutions to offer credit to women-owned businesses, discrimination of gender, high interest rate, and lack of financial literacy. Finally, the study also shows the relationship between credit access and performance of women-owned businesses in the southern division to be skills of preparing and presenting credit requests to potential sources, diversion and misuse of funds lent to them finally the study recommended that financial institutions to ease access to credit on women, especially through reducing the interest rates, encouraging women to save in financial institutions such as savings and credit cooperatives societies, increase investment to increase the value of collateral security for easy access of credit…”
