Analysis for Variation Characteristics and Trends of Runoff and Sediment in Nandu River by LIN Youwen, YU Miao, ZHU Lirong, YE Changqing, HUANG Junlin

    Published 2020-01-01
“…As the significant changes of both runoff and sediment content in many rivers in the changing environment,it's practical to analyze the variation characteristics and trends of runoff and sediment for predicting hydrologic situation exactly and identifying the influence mechanism effectively.Based on the data from the Santan Hydrological Station and Longtang Hydrological Station in Nandu River, this paper analyzes the variation characteristics and trends of runoff and sediment in Nandu River by mathematical statistical methods such as correlation analysis and trend analysis. The results show that:There is no significant change in total runoff of either Longtang or Santan Station from year to year. However, compared with 1977—1997,the amount of sediment transport at Longtang station decreased significantly from 1998 to 2007,which reduced about 33.82×104 t every year, accounting about 57.61%.The total runoff at Santan Station shows a downward trend, while that at Longtang Station has a slight downward trend. The amount of sediment transport at Santan Station does not change obviously, while that at Longtang Station reduces significantly. In addition, among the factors that affect the variation in runoff and sediment, precipitation is the main reason for the change in runoff, and sediment interception by reservoirs is an important reason for the decrease in sediment transport.…”

Analysis of Long-term Water Quality up to the Standard in Jinchuan River Basin Based on Hydrodynamic and Water Quality Model by CHEN Liming, YU Xin, JIN Zhe, CHEN Chen, CHEN Liangang, WANG Gaoxu

    Published 2023-01-01
“…The water quality of the Jinchuan River Basin cannot reach the standard steadily all year round. Thus, after analyzing the pollution characteristics of the basin, this paper proposes three schemes for water quality that can reach the standard in the long term, considering the improvement in the treatment, water supplement, and sewage interception abilities in sewage treatment plans of this basin.Meanwhile, prediction and analysis are also conducted on the water quality improvement effects of each plan. The results are as follows. In current pollution source conditions, regarding the two schemes where sewage treatment efficiency is increased by 10% and the basin water supplement rises by 50% on this basis, the peak concentration of ammonia nitrogen decreases, whereas the concentration is still higher than the Class V water standard. In the third scheme where the inflow concentration can achieve the assessment objectives of a south sewage treatment plant, the pollution load of pollutants into the river is reduced by about 44.4%.Therefore,the ammonia nitrogen concentration in the river network is significantly decreased, and the ammonia nitrogen concentration in the Baotaqiao section of downstream is reduced to 1.85 mg/L.Its water quality can meet the long-term water quality up to the standard in the whole process. The results can provide an effective scientific basis for water pollution control and prevention in the Jinchuan River Basin.…”

Characteristics of Water Distribution in Vadose Zone in the Soil Site and Its Impact on Site Preservation by ZHANG Xiaozhou, YUN Zhihan, YUAN Wei, LI Yi, ZHAO Fan

    Published 2023-01-01
“…Affected by water, ruins of soil texture are prone to crack, crispness, salt accumulation, moss and other hazards, which is not conducive to their preservation. In order to find out the source of soil water damage in the soil site so as to provide a reliable basis for the preservation of this site, based on the refined hydrogeological survey, this paper used the Solinst Levelogger groundwater recorder and MW307GD-M4 wireless gradient soil three-parameter monitoring terminal to continuously monitor the water trend in vadose zone in a long time sequence, and analyse the cause and mechanism of water damage in the archeological shed. The results show that the moisture content of the vadose zone of the ruin is generally high, with that of the same layer outside the shed about 10% higher than that inside the shed, but the soil permeability coefficients mainly range from 2.07×10-5 to 3.41×10-5cm/s,suggesting the weak effect of the rainfall outside the shed on the soil in the shed through horizontal infiltration. The phreatic water level ranges from 3.2 to 5.6 m,with an amplitude of about 0.25 m within the hydrological year. The rising capillary water subject to its fluctuation can directly affect the excavation interface under extreme rainfall conditions as the main control factor of the water damage of the ruin of soil texture.By reference to the engineering-geological concept of “upstream flow interception, downstream flow discharge and local flow control”,regulating the moisture content of the soil body in the sacrificial area casts new light on the preservation of ruins of soil texture.…”
