Research at flat underlying network architecture of campus

MicroNF:a microservice-based hybrid framework for NFV
Published 2019-08-01“…Network function virtualization (NFV) brought significant flexibility.However,such flexibility came with considerable compromises,since virtual machine carried monolithic functions could introduce significant performance overhead.A novel high-performance and programmable framework called MicroNF was proposed,which combines programmable hardware infrastructure and traditional software infrastructure in NFV to achieve both high performance and flexibility.In particular,microservice,a new design approach in software architecture,was leveraged by MicroNF to re-architect NFV to enable functional reusability among services and improve performance.MicroNF was implemented in a test bed based on OpenStack and ONetCard.Experimental results show that MicroNF reduces the forwarding latency of a service chain by an average of 70% compared with DPDK-based software implementation.…”

Uneven clustering routing protocol based on dynamic partition for wireless sensor network
Published 2014-01-01“…To solve the “hot spots” problem caused by uneven load energy,a novel distributed clustering routing protocol was proposed.Its core is an uneven clustering routing protocol based on dynamic partition(UCDP).In UCDP,the entire network’s energy consumption is balanced by dynamic partitioning,making the regions closer to the sink node with smaller nodes,which can preserve some energy for inter-region data forwarding.Considering the distance factor and residual energy factor for uneven clustering in each region,cluster-heads and region-heads work together in UCDP.Via the combination of single-hop and multi-hop,DBUP has established an optimal energy-balanced routing protocol.Simulation results show that UCDP has good stability,and significantly prolongs the network life.…”

Traffic scheduling method based on centralized control in named data networking
Published 2018-07-01“…In order to address the global optimization problem for traffic scheduling in named data networking,related works were analyzed,a method based on centralized control was proposed.The proposed method took network performance and communication overhead into account.In the proposed scheme,appropriate nodes would be selected as E-NDN nodes,then the controller calculated the corresponding multi-path forwarding policies and sent them to E-NDN nodes according to the in-network cache,the aggregation of Interest packets,and the traffic demands of popular contents to achieve global optimization.The evaluation results indicate that the proposed method can significantly reduce the maximum link utilization and improve network performance.Simultaneously,the proposed method will not cause a large optimization cost,and communication overhead between the controller and nodes will increase slightly.…”

Published 2019-02-01“…The two-way relay cooperation for underlay cognitive radio networks based on WIPT was presented,where secondary system adopted the two-way relay cooperative transmission.First,the relay adopted a power splitting protocol to harvest energy and to decode information transmitted by secondary users,then the relay forwarded information to two secondary users by using the harvested energy.Subsequently the exact expression of the outage probability,the ergodic capacity and energy efficiency of the secondary user system were derived.Finally,numerical simulation discusses the impact on the system performance with regard to secondary transmission power.The results reveal that the two-way relay cooperation effectively reduces the outage probability of data transmission.The capacity and energy efficiency of the system reaches optimal level when the power allocation coefficient is 0.5.…”

Resource optimization algorithm of combination of NFV and SDN for application of multiple services
Published 2018-11-01“…Various services of internet of things (IoT) require flexible network deployment to guarantee different quality of service (QoS).Aiming at the problem of IoT service function chain deployment,network function virtualization (NFV) and software defined networking (SDN) were combined to optimize resources.Considering forwarding cost and traffic load balance,a joint optimization model of virtual network function placement and service function chain routing was given and was proved to be NP-Hard.In order to solve this model,two heuristic algorithms were proposed.One was the service chain deployment algorithm of first routing then placing (FRTP) and the other was the placing followed by routing (PFBR) based on node priority.Simulation results demonstrate that FRTP and PFBR algorithm can significantly balance network traffic load while alleviating congestion and improving the acceptance ratio of the chain requests compared with other algorithms.…”

Routing optimization based on topology control in satellite network
