Ensuring the State’s Legal Liability is the Key Challenge of Legal Reform in the Modern Ukraine
Published 2019-05-01“…It has been stressed that legal liability was interpreted for a long time as a kind of “continuation” of the state itself: in the context of the concept of state coercion means it was solely perceived as an instrument of state power for punishing offenders. …”

Comparison of the Migration Potential through Microperforated Membranes of CD146+ GMSC Population versus Heterogeneous GMSC Population
Published 2021-01-01“…The microperforated membrane considered a rewarding solution for this major drawback; GMSCs can migrate through a GTR microperforated membrane toward a chemoattractant, with the blocking of other unfavorable epithelial cells and fibroblasts. In the absence of a sole marker for MSC, a homogeneous population of GMSC is difficult to isolate; using CD146 as confirmatory markers for MSC identification, testing the behaviour of such homogeneous population in migration dynamics was the question to answer in this study. …”

Acceptability of artificial intelligence in breast screening: focus groups with the screening-eligible population in England
Published 2024-12-01“…Data were analysed using a reflexive thematic analysis. Results Four themes described public perceptions of AI in breast screening found in this study: (1) Things going wrong and being missed summarises a predominant and pervasive concern about an AI tool being used in breast screening; (2) Speed of change and loss of control captures a positive association of AI with technological advances held by the women but also feelings of things being out of their control, and that they were being left behind and in the dark; (3) The importance of humans reports concern around the possibility that AI excludes humans and renders them redundant and (4) Desire for thorough research, staggered implementation and double-checking of scans included insistence that any AI be thoroughly trialled, tested and not solely relied on when initially implemented. Conclusions It will be essential that future decision-making and communication about AI implementation in breast screening (and, likely, in healthcare more widely) address concerns surrounding (1) the fallibility of AI, (2) lack of inclusion, control and transparency in relation to healthcare and technology decisions and (3) humans being left redundant and unneeded, while building on women’s hopes for the technology.…”

Deaths during Sexual Activity
Published 2024-05-01“…Determining the cause of death requires a comprehensive assessment of the evidence and circumstances and should not be based solely on autopsy findings. When determining the cause of death, it is necessary to evaluate the circumstances of the discovery, important evidence found near the body, the position of the deceased, the place where the deceased was found, and the characteristics of the environment. …”

Published 2020-02-01“…Integration of quantitative and qualitative data suggests that patient perceptions of swallowing and nutrition contribute to gastrostomy acceptance; however, the decision making process is heterogeneous and these factors may not be the sole or primary reasons for acceptance. Other reported factors included: reducing carer burden, improving quality of life, increasing independence, continuing participation in social outings and gaining control. Conclusions Future research may give greater insight into how healthcare organisations can better facilitate gastrostomy decision making, to meet the needs of people living with MND. …”

Depletion of key gut bacteria predicts disrupted bile acid metabolism in inflammatory bowel disease
Published 2025-02-01“…In particular, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is characterized by a low concentration of secondary bile acids (SBAs), whose transformation from primary bile acids (PBAs) is an essential function performed solely by gut bacteria. BA-transformation activity mediated by the bile acid inducible (bai) operon has been functionally characterized in the genus Clostridium, and homologous bai gene sequences have been found in metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) belonging to other taxa in the human gut, but it is unclear which species of bai-carrying bacteria perform physiologically significant amounts of bile acid transformation in healthy and sick individuals. …”
