Low seismic shaking induced densification of large spoil heap composed with low-density particle material by Jian Lv, Tao Jiang, Shuangcheng Wang, Wei Huang, Shenghua Cui, Lihu Duan, Zhenfu Huang

    Published 2025-01-01
“…To investigate the vibration-induced densification characteristics and deformation mechanisms of a low-density spoil heap under small seismic effects, a spoil heap located in western Sichuan Province was selected as the research subject, and a large-scale shaking table test was performed.MethodsThe settlement and acceleration response behaviors of the slope model during the vibration process were analyzed using three-dimensional point cloud data and acceleration time-history data, with horizontal and horizontal-vertical bi-directional seismic waves applied at progressively increasing amplitudes. …”

Impacts of climate change on the suitable habitat of Angelica sinensis and analysis of its drivers in China by Shaoyang Xi, Xudong Guo, Xiaohui Ma, Ling Jin

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Under current climate conditions, suitable habitats for A. sinensis cover approximately 13% of mainland China, primarily in Gansu (73.77%), Qinghai (14.73%), and Sichuan (11.18%) provinces. Environmental factors such as altitude, humidity, and temperature significantly influence the geographical distribution of A. sinensis. …”

The impact of physical exercise on adolescents’ mobile phone dependency: the serial mediating role of self-esteem and depression by Jingtao Wu, Yanhong Shao, Wanli Zang

    Published 2025-02-01
“…ObjectiveThe objective of this study is to examine the impact of physical exercise on the prevalence of mobile phone dependency among middle school students, as well as to delineate the serial mediating roles of self-esteem and depression within this relationship.MethodsA convenient cluster random sampling method was employed to conduct a questionnaire survey among 3,786 middle school students from Guangdong, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Henan, and other provinces. Measurements were taken using the Physical Activity Rating Scale (PARS-3), the Self-esteem Scale, the Depression Scale, and the Mobile Phone Dependency Scale.ResultsPhysical exercise was significantly negatively correlated with mobile phone dependency (r = −0.400, p < 0.001) and depression (r = −0.400, p < 0.001), and positively correlated with self-esteem (r = 0.257, p < 0.001). …”
