The Higgs mechanism — Hasse diagrams for symplectic singularities
Published 2020-01-01“…We identify this foliation with the pattern of partial Higgs mechanism of the theory and, using brane systems and recently introduced notions of magnetic quivers and quiver subtraction, we formalise the rules to obtain the Hasse diagram which encodes the structure of the foliation. …”

Symmetry breaking via internal geometry
Published 2005-01-01“…Gauge theories commonly employ complex vector-valued fields to reduce symmetry groups through the Higgs mechanism of spontaneous symmetry breaking. The geometry of the internal space V is tacitly assumed to be the metric geometry of some static, nondynamical hermitian metric k. …”

Magnetic Monopoles in Multivector Boson Theories
Published 2018-01-01“…We consider the model whose [SU(2)]N+1 gauge group is broken by sigma model fields (à la dimensional deconstruction) and further spontaneously broken by an adjoint scalar (à la triplet Higgs mechanism). In this multivector boson theory, we find the solution for the monopole whose mass is MN~(4πv/g)N+1, where g is the common gauge coupling constant and v is the vacuum expectation value of the triplet Higgs field, by using a variational method with the simplest set of test functions.…”

Remarks on an Anomalous Triple Gauge Boson Couplings
Published 2021-01-01“…We address the effect of an anomalous triple gauge boson couplings on a physical observable for the electroweak sector of the Standard Model, when the SU2L⊗U1Y symmetry is spontaneously broken by the Higgs mechanism to U1em. Our calculation is done within the framework of the gauge-invariant, but path-dependent variable formalism is an alternative to the Wilson loop approach. …”

The electroweak effective field theory from on-shell amplitudes
Published 2020-01-01“…This bottom-up analysis remarkably reproduces many low-energy relations implied by electroweak symmetry through the standard-model Higgs mechanism and beyond it. We then discuss four-point amplitudes. …”
