Managing Bahiagrass in Hybrid Bermudagrass Pastures
Published 2005-10-01“…The popularity of bahiagrass in Florida can be attributed to its drought tolerance, low fertility requirements, and persistence even under heavy grazing. Although bahiagrass is an important forage species, it can be a serious weed problem for those wishing to produce high-quality bermudagrass hay. …”

Quantitative Analysis of Driving Factors of Grassland Degradation: A Case Study in Xilin River Basin, Inner Mongolia
Published 2012-01-01“…Based on the analysis of satellite vegetation maps from 1984, 1998, and 2004 for the Xilin River Basin, Inner Mongolia, China, and binary logistic regression (BLR) analysis, we observe the following: (1) grassland degradation is positively correlated with the growth density of climax communities; (2) our findings do not support a common notion that a decrease of biological productivity is a direct indicator of grassland degradation; (3) a causal relationship between grazing intensity and grassland degradation was not found; (4) degradation severity increased steadily towards roads but showed different trends near human settlements. …”

EQUIVALENT CIRCUIT SIMULATION OF A TWO-DEGREE-OF-FREEDOM ELASTIC COLLISION VIBRATION SYSTEM WITH GAPS
Published 2025-01-01“…A two-degree-of-freedom collision system with gap and elastic constraint was used as the research object, and the regional distribution and transitions of the periodic motion of the system under low frequency conditions were studied by numerical simulation. It was obtained that with the decrease of excitation frequency, the p/1 periodic motion occurs with grazing bifurcation transitions to (p+1)/1 periodic motion. When the number of collisions was large enough, the Chattering-impact characteristics were presented. Then a circuit model that was completely equivalent to the collision system was established and simulation experiments were carried out.The results show that the results generated by establishing the equivalent circuit are consistent with those generated by numerical simulations, and the equivalent circuit is more efficient in simulation experiments, which can realize fast modal transitions and parameter adjustments, making it more convenient and providing a research method for the study of nonlinear dynamics.…”

Management and sustainability of ground-mounted solar parks requires consideration of vegetation succession as an omnipresent process
Published 2025-02-01“…Instead of relying exclusively on labour-intensive and costly mowing, managers can make use of grazing animals. In this way, simply anticipating the ecological succession process and taking it into account when planning and managing a solar park can boost overall sustainability. …”
