Numerical Simulation of Surface Energy and Water Balances over a Semiarid Grassland Ecosystem in the West African Savanna by Emmanuel Quansah, Genki Katata, Matthias Mauder, Thompson Annor, Leonard K. Amekudzi, Jan Bliefernicht, Dominikus Heinzeller, Ahmed A. Balogun, Harald Kunstmann

    Published 2017-01-01
“…To understand surface energy exchange processes over the semiarid regions in West Africa, numerical simulations of surface energy and water balances were carried out using a one-dimensional multilayer atmosphere-SOil-VEGetation (SOLVEG) model for selected days of the dry and rainy seasons over a savanna grassland ecosystem in Sumbrungu in the Upper East region of Ghana. The measured Bowen ratio was used to partition the residual energy into the observed sensible heat flux (H) and latent heat flux (LE) in order to investigate the impact of the surface energy closure on model performance. …”

“If I forget you Jerusalem” (Ps. 137:4). The Transmission of Sacred Discourse in the Bible and in African Indigenous Sacred Texts by M.K. Mensah

    Published 2023-11-01
“…This paper, using a dialogical approach of African biblical hermeneutics, brings Psalm 137 into dialogue with the Adinkra amammere (tradition), an indigenous text of the Akan of Ghana. It argues that reading these texts together uncovers their complementary views on the preservation and transmission of sacred discourse and could facilitate reception of the biblical message in contemporary Ghanian society. …”

Mediating role of fatigue driving in the influence of job demand and insecurity on safety incidents among bus drivers by Mustapha Amoadu, Isaac Tetteh Commey, Edward Wilson Ansah

    Published 2025-01-01
“…Conclusion The study indicates critical impact of job demands and job security on driving fatigue and subsequent safety incidents among bus these drivers in Ghana. Thus, addressing these stressors through targeted interventions, such as improved working conditions and fatigue management programmes, become essential for enhancing driver well-being and road safety in Ghana. …”
