The guiding objectives of the study were: to find out the contribution of women empowerment towards economic prosperity; to find out the determinants of economic prosperity; and, to establish the relationship between women empowerment and economic prosperity. This study adopted a combination of descriptive and correlational research designs. A sample size of 443 units was selected from a target population of 128,700 subjects using purposive and simple random sampling techniques. The study collected data using both questionnaires and interviews. Descriptive statistical techniques were used to describe the contributions of women empowerment and the determinants of economic prosperity. The study found that women empowerment contributes 42.9% of the level of variations in economic prosperity in Kabale. Enhancing women’s productive skills is the most important contribution of women economic empowerment; and access to friendly microcredit stands to be the most important determinant of economic prosperity. The study concluded that there is a strong and significant positive relationship between women empowerment and economic prosperity. Organizations that deal with women’s legal issues in Kabale and Uganda should combat the restrictions that constrain women’s ability to engage in economic activities. Organizations that deal with women’s health should enhance women’s health education and improve women’s health-related decision making in Kabale and Uganda.
