description In nurturing a developing country's economic growth and appreciation of advancing technologies, an efficient waste management system plays a pivotal role. The seamless operation of a coordinated municipal solid waste management system is indispensable for sustained eco-system progress and preservation. This project aims to evaluate gasification which is a waste-to-energy technology to align the growing waste production rates with the growing populations of Kabale district to mitigate the adverse effects of a polluted environment that can arise from landfill leachate which can pollute both surface water sources and the underground sources as well as other environmental concerns. The calorific value of the kabale waste stream is equivalent to 164.5431 kcal/kg. From the results obtained the successful implementation of a fluidized bed gasification system for municipal solid waste (MSW) management in Kabale, Kigezi District, presents a promising alternative to traditional waste disposal methods, due to its versatility and environmental benefits. Future studies should add more detailed data on material inputs, resource use, energy consumption, and waste generated. It would be preferred to model biomass input in greater detail to better reflect the actual impact. Further studies on the quantity of syngas produced from the waste of kabale is recommendable. An economic feasibility study can be conducted for a potential gasification plant. Further studies on how to incorporate the gasification technology with the existing waste management procedure like landfills can be incorporated.
